Abstract
Displaying a preference by a user of a content contribution is disclosed. A preference event by the user is detected. A plurality of detected events is stored. In response to a query from a client, at least a portion of the stored detected events is stored. At least a portion of the received events is displayed in an interface.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1. A method of indicating content preferences, the method comprising:
presenting to a plurality of users a content interface hosted by a preference system computer;
receiving, from the plurality of users via the content interface, preference events regarding multiple content contributions displayed in the content interface;
storing the preference events at the computer;
presenting to a first user a visualization interface hosted by the computer, the visualization interface including:
multiple lines comprising titles of the multiple content contributions, wherein appearances of the content contribution titles depend upon the preference events received for the content contributions; and
dynamically updating the appearances of the content contribution titles as additional positive preference events are received at the computer for the multiple content contributions.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein each preference event received from a user is either a positive preference for a corresponding content contribution or a negative preference against the corresponding content contribution.
3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the visualization interface further includes:
a view control for replacing the multiple lines of content contribution titles with a list of multiple content contributions.
4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the visualization interface further includes:
for each of one or more of the multiple content contribution titles, a corresponding marker;
wherein an appearance of each marker and corresponding content contribution title depends on a number of positive preference events received for the content contribution having the corresponding content contribution title.
5. The method of claim 3 , wherein the visualization interface further includes:
a category control for selecting a category of content contributions; and
a sort control for sorting the content contribution titles presented in the visualization interface.
6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
in response to the first user hovering an input control over a first content contribution title, displaying a status of the first content contribution, the status including one or more of:
a current number of positive preference events received for the content contribution; and
an indication whether a positive preference event for the content contribution has been received from a friend of the first user.
7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
in response to the first user hovering an input control over a first content contribution title, displaying the first content contribution.
8. The method of claim 1 , wherein:
a font size of a content contribution title is proportional to a number of positive preference events received for the content contribution.
9. The method of claim 1 , wherein:
a color of a content contribution title indicates a magnitude of a number of positive preference events received for the content contribution.
10. The method of claim 1 , wherein:
the appearance of a content contribution title indicates whether any preference event for the content contribution was received from a friend of the first user.
11. An apparatus for indicating content preferences, the apparatus comprising:
one or more processors; and
a memory coupled with the one or more processors, wherein the memory is configured to provide the one or more processors with instructions that, when executed, cause the apparatus to:
present to a plurality of users a content interface hosted by the apparatus;
receive, from the plurality of users via the content interface, preference events regarding multiple content contributions displayed in the content interface;
store the preference events;
present to a first user a visualization interface, the visualization interface including:
multiple lines comprising titles of the multiple content contributions, wherein appearances of the content contribution titles depend upon the preference events received for the content contributions; and
dynamically update the appearances of the content contribution titles as additional positive preference events are received for the multiple content contributions.
12. The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein each preference event received from a user is either a positive preference for a corresponding content contribution or a negative preference against the corresponding content contribution.
13. The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the visualization interface further includes:
a view control for replacing the multiple lines of content contribution titles with a list of multiple content contributions.
14. The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the visualization interface further includes:
for each of one or more of the multiple content contribution titles, a corresponding marker;
wherein an appearance of each marker and corresponding content contribution title depends on a number of positive preference events received for the content contribution having the corresponding content contribution title.
15. The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the memory is further configured to provide the one or more processors with instructions that, when executed, cause the apparatus to:
in response to the first user hovering an input control over a first content contribution title, display a status of the first content contribution, the status including one or more of:
a current number of positive preference events received for the content contribution; and
an indication whether a positive preference event for the content contribution has been received from a friend of the first user.
16. A system for indicating content preferences, the system comprising:
a content-preference apparatus comprising a non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, cause the system to:
present to a plurality of users a content interface hosted by the system;
receive, from the plurality of users via the content interface, preference events regarding multiple content contributions displayed in the content interface; and
store the preference events; and
a visualization apparatus comprising a non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, cause the system to:
present to a first user a visualization interface, the visualization interface including:
multiple lines comprising titles of the multiple content contributions, wherein appearances of the content contribution titles depend upon the preference events received for the content contributions; and
dynamically update the appearances of the content contribution titles as additional positive preference events are received for the multiple content contributions.
17. The system of claim 16 , wherein each preference event received from a user is either a positive preference for a corresponding content contribution or a negative preference against the corresponding content contribution.
18. The system of claim 16 , wherein the visualization interface further includes:
a view control for replacing the multiple lines of content contribution titles with a list of multiple content contributions.
19. The system of claim 18 , wherein the visualization interface further includes:
for each of one or more of the multiple content contribution titles, a corresponding marker;
wherein an appearance of each marker and corresponding content contribution title depends on a number of positive preference events received for the content contribution having the corresponding content contribution title.
20. The system of claim 16 , wherein the non-transitory computer readable medium of the visualization apparatus further stores instructions that, when executed, cause the system to:
in response to the first user hovering an input control over a first content contribution title, display a status of the first content contribution, the status including one or more of:
a current number of positive preference events received for the content contribution; and
an indication whether a positive preference event for the content contribution has been received from a friend of the first user.Cited by (0)
