Loudspeaker arrangement in a car interior

Abstract

Disclosed is a loudspeaker array with a multiplicity of array loudspeakers. The multiplicity of array loudspeakers is mounted in a surface of a rigid hemisphere that encloses an acoustic volume. The array loudspeakers are regularly or quasi-regularly distributed over the surface of the rigid hemisphere, and a loudspeaker arrangement includes such an array.

What is claimed is: 
     
       1. A loudspeaker arrangement comprising a vehicle interior and a multiplicity of loudspeakers disposed in the vehicle interior, wherein:
 the multiplicity of loudspeakers is distributed throughout the vehicle interior in at least one of a dashboard, rear shelf, door, and pillar in the vehicle interior; 
 a distance between a floor and a ceiling of the vehicle interior comprises three equal sections, in which a first section close to the floor comprises lower level positions, a second section close to the ceiling comprises higher level positions and a third section between the first and second sections comprises medium level positions; 
 the loudspeaker arrangement further comprises a multiplicity of first additional loudspeakers, 
 the first additional loudspeakers are midrange or broadband loudspeakers; and 
 the first additional loudspeakers are disposed at lower or medium level positions and in or on side portions of the vehicle interior at positions lateral to one or more passenger positions. 
 
     
     
       2. The loudspeaker arrangement of  claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first additional loudspeakers is disposed in a door in the vehicle interior. 
     
     
       3. The loudspeaker arrangement of  claim 1 , further comprising a multiplicity of array loudspeakers, wherein:
 the multiplicity of array loudspeakers is mounted in a surface of a rigid hemisphere that is disposed in the vehicle interior and encloses an acoustic volume; and 
 the array loudspeakers are regularly or quasi-regularly distributed over the surface of the rigid hemisphere. 
 
     
     
       4. The loudspeaker arrangement of  claim 3 , wherein one part of the rigid hemisphere has a dome-shaped surface and another part has a plane surface, and the multiplicity of array loudspeakers is mounted in the dome-shaped surface. 
     
     
       5. The loudspeaker arrangement of  claim 4 , wherein the multiplicity of array loudspeakers comprise five array loudspeakers, four of which are arranged close to the plane surface and one of which is arranged most distant to the plane surface. 
     
     
       6. The loudspeaker arrangement of  claim 5 , wherein each of the four array loudspeakers close to the plane surface has a main direction that points to a corresponding seat within the vehicle interior. 
     
     
       7. The loudspeaker arrangement of  claim 3 , wherein at least some of the multiplicity of array loudspeakers are midrange or broadband loudspeakers. 
     
     
       8. The loudspeaker arrangement of  claim 1 , wherein:
 the loudspeaker arrangement further comprises a multiplicity of second additional loudspeakers; 
 the second additional loudspeakers being midrange or broadband loudspeakers; and 
 the second additional loudspeakers being disposed in medium or higher-level positions and in at least one of a side portion of the vehicle interior, a ceiling of the vehicle interior and headrests of seats in the vehicle interior. 
 
     
     
       9. The loudspeaker arrangement of  claim 8 , further comprising a multiplicity of third additional loudspeakers, wherein:
 the third additional loudspeakers being midrange or broadband loudspeakers; and 
 the third additional loudspeakers being disposed in at least one of the ceiling and a headliner of the vehicle interior. 
 
     
     
       10. The loudspeaker arrangement of  claim 1 , further comprising at least one fourth additional loudspeaker, wherein the at least one fourth additional loudspeaker is a woofer or subwoofer. 
     
     
       11. The loudspeaker arrangement of  claim 1 , further comprising a loudspeaker array disposed in or in a vicinity of a center of the vehicle interior. 
     
     
       12. The loudspeaker arrangement of  claim 1 , further comprising a loudspeaker array disposed in or on a rear portion of a center console of the vehicle interior. 
     
     
       13. A vehicle comprising a vehicle interior and a loudspeaker arrangement disposed in the vehicle interior, the loudspeaker arrangement comprising a multiplicity of loudspeakers, wherein:
 the multiplicity of loudspeakers is distributed throughout the vehicle interior in at least one of a dashboard, rear shelf, door, and pillar in the vehicle interior; 
 a distance between a floor and a ceiling of the vehicle interior comprises three equal sections, in which a first section close to the floor comprises lower level positions, a second section close to the ceiling comprises higher level positions and a third section between the first and second sections comprises medium level positions; 
 the loudspeaker arrangement further comprises a multiplicity of first additional loudspeakers, 
 the first additional loudspeakers are midrange or broadband loudspeakers; and 
 the first additional loudspeakers are disposed at lower or medium level positions and in or on side portions of the vehicle interior at positions lateral to one or more passenger positions. 
 
     
     
       14. The vehicle of  claim 13 , wherein at least one of the first additional loudspeakers is disposed in a door of the vehicle. 
     
     
       15. The vehicle of  claim 13 , wherein the loudspeaker arrangement further comprises a multiplicity of array loudspeakers, wherein the multiplicity of array loudspeakers is mounted in a surface of a rigid hemisphere that is disposed in the vehicle interior and encloses an acoustic volume, and the array loudspeakers are regularly or quasi-regularly distributed over the surface of the rigid hemisphere. 
     
     
       16. The vehicle of  claim 15 , wherein one part of the rigid hemisphere has a dome-shaped surface and another part has a plane surface, wherein the multiplicity of array loudspeakers is mounted in the dome-shaped surface. 
     
     
       17. The vehicle of  claim 13 , wherein:
 the loudspeaker arrangement further comprises a multiplicity of second additional loudspeakers; 
 the second additional loudspeakers are midrange or broadband loudspeakers; and 
 the second additional loudspeakers are disposed in medium or higher-level positions and in at least one of a side portion of the vehicle interior, a ceiling of the vehicle interior and headrests of seats in the vehicle interior. 
 
     
     
       18. The vehicle of  claim 17 , wherein:
 the loudspeaker arrangement further comprises a multiplicity of third additional loudspeakers; 
 the third additional loudspeakers are midrange or broadband loudspeakers; and 
 the third additional loudspeakers are disposed in at least one of the ceiling and a headliner of the vehicle interior. 
 
     
     
       19. The vehicle of  claim 13 , wherein:
 the loudspeaker arrangement further comprises at least one fourth additional loudspeaker; and 
 the at least one fourth additional loudspeaker is a woofer or subwoofer. 
 
     
     
       20. The vehicle of  claim 13 , wherein the loudspeaker arrangement includes a loudspeaker array disposed in or in a vicinity of a center of the vehicle interior.
