Abstract
Methods and systems are described for setting up a security and/or automation system. According to at least one embodiment, a method for setting up the security or automation system includes receiving a communication from a mobile device associated with installing a system peripheral device at a control unit and executing an installation task based on the communication.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1. A method for remote device installation using security and/or automation systems, comprising:
receiving, from a mobile device, a request associated with an installation task of a peripheral device;
requesting, from the mobile device, one or more indicators associated with an operator of the mobile device for an authentication procedure of the mobile device based at least in part on receiving the request;
receiving the one or more indicators based at least in part on requesting the one or more indicators;
updating a set of permissions associated with the authentication procedure based at least in part receiving the one or more indicators;
preempting initiating the authentication procedure of the mobile device based at least in part on receiving the request associated with the installation task, wherein the authentication procedure is based at least in part on updating the set of permissions; and
bypassing the authentication procedure based at least in part on receiving the request associated with the installation task.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein updating the set of permissions further comprises:
adding one or more aspects of the set of permissions as part of the authentication procedure.
3. The method of claim 1 , wherein updating the set of permissions further comprises:
blocking one or more aspects of the set of permissions as part of the authentication procedure.
4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
authenticating the mobile device based at least in part on bypassing the authentication procedure.
5. The method of claim 4 , further comprising:
receiving one or more identification parameters associated with the peripheral device based at least in part on authenticating the mobile device.
6. The method of claim 5 , further comprising:
executing the installation task based at least in part on receiving the request and receiving the one or more identification parameters.
7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
processing the one or more indicators based at least in part on receiving the one or more indicators.
8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more indicators are biometric indicators.
9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the set of permissions indicate actions the operator is permitted to perform, actions the operator is not permitted to perform, or both.
10. An apparatus for remote device installation using security and/or automation systems, comprising:
a processor;
memory in electronic communication with the processor; and
instructions stored in the memory, the instructions being executable by the processor to:
receive, from a mobile device, a request associated with an installation task of a peripheral device;
request, from the mobile device, one or more indicators associated with an operator of the mobile device for an authentication procedure of the mobile device based at least in part on receiving the request;
receive the one or more indicators based at least in part on requesting the one or more indicators;
update a set of permissions associated with the authentication procedure based at least in part receiving the one or more indicators;
preempt the initiation of the authentication procedure of the mobile device based at least in part on receiving the request associated with the installation task, wherein the authentication procedure is based at least in part on updating the set of permissions; and
bypass the authentication procedure based at least in part on receiving the request associated with the installation task.
11. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to:
add one or more aspects of the set of permissions as part of the authentication procedure based at least in part on updating the set of permissions.
12. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to:
block one or more aspects of the set of permissions as part of the authentication procedure based at least in part on updating the set of permissions.
13. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to:
authenticate the mobile device based at least in part on bypassing the authentication procedure.
14. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to:
receive one or more identification parameters associated with the peripheral device based at least in part on authenticating the mobile device.
15. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to:
execute the installation task based at least in part on receiving the request and receiving the one or more identification parameters.
16. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable code for remote device installation using security and/or automation systems, the code executable by a processor to:
receive, from a mobile device, a request associated with an installation task of a peripheral device;
request, from the mobile device, one or more indicators associated with an operator of the mobile device for an authentication procedure of the mobile device based at least in part on receiving the request;
receive the one or more indicators based at least in part on requesting the one or more indicators;
update a set of permissions associated with the authentication procedure based at least in part receiving the one or more indicators;
preempt the initiation of initiate the authentication procedure of the mobile device based at least in part on receiving the request associated with the installation task, wherein the authentication procedure is based at least in part on updating the set of permissions; and
bypass the authentication procedure based at least in part on receiving the request associated with the installation task.
17. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the code executable by the processor to:
add one or more aspects of the set of permissions as part of the authentication procedure based at least in part on updating the set of permissions.
18. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the code executable by the processor to:
block one or more aspects of the set of permissions as part of the authentication procedure based at least in part on updating the set of permissions.Cited by (0)
