Claims

Abstract

A method of treating telangiectasia in a subject in need thereof is disclosed. The method includes topically applying to skin of said subject in need of treatment of telangiectasia a composition comprising effective amounts of an alcoholic extract of Centella asiactica leaf and an aqueous extract of Vitis vinifera seed to disrupt endothelial tubes in skin.

The invention claimed is: 
     
       1. A method of treating telangiectasia in a subject in need thereof comprising topically applying to skin of said subject in need of treatment of telangiectasia a composition comprising effective amounts of an alcoholic extract of  Centella asiactica  leaf and an aqueous extract of  Vitis vinifera  seed to disrupt endothelial tubes in skin. 
     
     
       2. The method of  claim 1 , wherein the composition is applied to spider veins. 
     
     
       3. The method of  claim 1 , wherein the composition remains on the skin for at least 5 minutes after topical application. 
     
     
       4. The method of  claim 1 , wherein the telangiectasia is present on facial skin, leg skin, ankle skin, or arm skin. 
     
     
       5. The method of  claim 1 , wherein the composition is a cream, gel, or lotion. 
     
     
       6. The method of  claim 1 , wherein the composition is an emulsion. 
     
     
       7. The method of  claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises a moisturization agent, a UV absorbing agent, anti-oxidant, structuring agent, emulsifier, silicone containing compound, essential oil, thickening agent, and a preservative. 
     
     
       8. The method of  claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises:
 0.01 to 1% by weight of the alcoholic extract of  Centella asiatica  leaf; and 
 0.01 to 1% by weight of the aqueous extract of  Vitis vinifera  seed. 
 
     
     
       9. The method of  claim 1 , wherein the  Centella asiatica  leaf extract comprises asiaticoside, madecassic acid, and asiatic acid, and wherein the  Vitis vinifera  seed extract comprises polyphenols.
