A new and distinct variety of Azalea found as a seedling in a planned cross between the female Azalea `Red Slippers` and the male Rhododendron oldhamii `Fourth of July`. The new variety possesses a unique blooming time and is superior in development of a dense, globose shaped plant with attractive single to semi-double strong red flowers.
