Abstract
A ceiling system is provided for use in a building space having a plurality of walls. The ceiling system includes a grid system that extends to at least two of the plurality of walls and separates the building space into an occupiable space below the grid system and a plenum space above the grid system; and a plurality of ceiling tiles that are supported by the grid system and, with the grid system, create a barrier between the occupiable space and the plenum space, the plurality of ceiling tiles including three different polygonal non-rectangular ceiling tiles.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1. A ceiling system for use in a building space having a plurality of walls, the ceiling system comprising:
a grid system that extends to at least two of the plurality of walls and separates the building space into an occupiable space below the grid system and a plenum space above the grid system; and
a plurality of ceiling tiles having a front face opposite a rear face, the plurality of ceiling tiles supported by the grid system and, with the grid system, create a barrier between the occupiable space and the plenum space whereby the front face of each of the plurality of ceiling tiles face the occupiable space; and
wherein the plurality of ceiling tiles comprise three polygonal non-rectangular ceiling tiles each of which have a different aesthetic quality on the front face that includes at least one of color and texture.
2. The ceiling system of any of the preceding claims, wherein the plenum space is a closed space.
3. The ceiling system of claim 1 , wherein the different aesthetic quality is color.
4. The ceiling system of claim 1 , wherein the different aesthetic quality is a shade of a same color.
5. The ceiling system of claim 1 , wherein the different aesthetic quality is texture.
6. The ceiling system of claim 1 , wherein the three polygonal non-rectangular ceiling tiles each further comprise a size difference.
7. The ceiling system of claim 1 , wherein two of the three different ceiling tiles are different shades of a first color, and a third of the three different ceiling tiles is a second color that is different from the first color.
8. A ceiling system for use in a building space having a plurality of walls, the ceiling system comprising:
a grid system that extends to at least two of the plurality of walls and separates the building space into an occupiable space below the grid system and a plenum space above the grid system; and
a first plurality of ceiling tiles each having a first front face opposite a first rear face, the first plurality of ceiling tiles supported by the grid system, the first front face of the first plurality of ceiling tiles having a first aesthetic quality and at least two of the first plurality of ceiling tiles being immediate adjacent to each other;
a second plurality of ceiling tiles each having a second front face opposite a second rear face, the second plurality of ceiling tiles supported by the grid system, the second front face of the second plurality of ceiling tiles having a second aesthetic quality;
a third plurality of ceiling tiles each having a third front face opposite a third rear face, the third plurality of ceiling tiles supported by the grid system, the third front face of the third plurality of ceiling tiles having a third aesthetic quality;
wherein, with the grid system, the first plurality of ceiling tiles, the second plurality of ceiling tiles, and the third plurality of ceiling tiles create a barrier between the occupiable space and the plenum space;
wherein the first front face of each of the first plurality of ceiling, the second front face of each of the second plurality of ceiling tiles, and the third front face of each of the third plurality of ceilings face the occupiable space; and
wherein at least two of the first aesthetic quality, the second aesthetic quality, and the third aesthetic quality are different.
9. The ceiling system according to claim 8 , wherein each of the first aesthetic quality, the second aesthetic quality, and the third aesthetic quality are different.
10. The ceiling system according to claim 8 , wherein the first, second, and third aesthetic quality is selected from one or more of color and texture.
11. The ceiling system according to claim 8 , wherein at least two of the second plurality of ceiling tiles being immediate adjacent to each other.
12. The ceiling system according to claim 11 , wherein at least two of the third plurality of ceiling tiles being immediate adjacent to each other.
13. The ceiling system according to claim 8 , wherein each of the first plurality of ceiling tiles have a first size, each of the second plurality of ceiling tiles have a second size, and each of the third plurality of ceiling tiles have a third size, and wherein at least the first size and the second size are not equal.
14. The ceiling system according to claim 13 , wherein the third size is not equal to the first size and the second size.
15. A ceiling system for use in a building space having a plurality of walls, the ceiling system comprising:
a grid system that extends to at least two of the plurality of walls and separates the building space into an occupiable space below the grid system and a plenum space above the grid system; and
a plurality of panels comprising:
a perimeter area comprising a first plurality of perimeter ceiling tiles having a first orientation relative to the plurality of walls;
a central area comprising a first plurality of central ceiling tiles having a second orientation relative to the plurality of walls and a second plurality of central ceiling tiles having a third orientation relative to the plurality of walls;
wherein the first orientation is different from the second orientation, and the central area is at least partially circumscribed by the perimeter area; and
wherein each of the first plurality of perimeter ceiling tiles has a first aesthetic quality and wherein each of the first plurality of perimeter ceiling tiles has a second aesthetic quality, the first and second aesthetic qualities being different.
16. The ceiling system according to claim 15 , wherein each of the first aesthetic quality and the second aesthetic quality is selected from one or more of color and texture.
17. The ceiling system according to claim 15 , wherein the central area further comprises a third plurality of central ceiling tiles having a third orientation relative to the plurality of walls, the third plurality of perimeter ceiling tiles has a third aesthetic quality.
18. The ceiling system according to claim 17 , wherein the third aesthetic quality is selected from one or more of color and texture, and the third aesthetic quality is different from the first and second aesthetic quality.
19. The ceiling system according to claim 17 , wherein the third orientation is different from the first orientation and the second orientation.
20. The ceiling system according to claim 17 , wherein the perimeter area is immediately adjacent to the plurality of walls.Cited by (0)
