Abstract

Techniques including data collection, organization and usage are provided, including in connection with computer-based gaming. Methods and systems are provided for establishing a set of data chronicling at least a portion of a duration of a computer-based gaming event that includes at least one user engaging in gaming using a computer or a computer-based device. Event data is obtained for chronicling chronologically ordered in-game events. Hardware and software related data is obtained that relates to the computer or the computer-based device and is relevant to the chronicling of the portion of the gaming event. Utilizing a distributed ledger technology or blockchain, the event data and the hardware and software related data are recorded in establishing the set of data chronicling at least a portion of the duration of the gaming event.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

       1. A computer readable, non-transitory memory (CRM) product suite having software instructions that cause at least one processor to execute the following operations:
 obtaining game state data from a gaming device, wherein the game state data is associated with a gaming event;
 updating a ledger data structure with the game state data;
 generating a data set from the ledger data structure and including at least a portion of the game state data in the data set;
 identifying an anomalous game behavior upon matching the data set with an anomalous behavior signature; and
 sending a notification including the anomalous game behavior.

       2. The CRM product suite of claim 1 , wherein the game state data comprises initial state data.

       3. The CRM product suite of claim 2 , wherein the operation of updating the ledger data structure includes generating a genesis block for the ledger data structure from the initial state data.

       4. The CRM product suite of claim 2 , wherein the initial state data comprises at least one of the following: a hardware state and a memory state.

       5. The CRM product suite of claim 2 , wherein the initial state data comprises at least one of the following types of information: player information, team information, server information, game software information, a network latency, a network packet loss, a list of software running on the gaming device, checksum information, at least one device state, a time stamp, and an external hash value.

       6. The CRM product suite of claim 1 , wherein the gaming device comprises at least one of the following computer-based devices: a smart phone, a tablet, a desktop computer, a set top box, a tablet, a vehicle, a gaming console, a smart watch, an appliance, and a television.

       7. The CRM product suite of claim 1 , wherein the ledger data structure comprises at least one distributed ledger.

       8. The CRM product suite of claim 7 , wherein the at least one distributed ledger comprises an Ethereum ledger.

       9. The CRM product suite of claim 1 , wherein the ledger data structure comprises at least one smart contract data structure.

       10. The CRM product suite of claim 1 , wherein the ledger data structure comprises at least one decentralized ledger.

       11. The CRM product suite of claim 1 , wherein the ledger data structure comprises at least one semi-centralized ledger.

       12. The CRM product suite of claim 1 , wherein the operations further include notarizing the game state data.

       13. The CRM product suite of claim 12 , wherein the operation of notarizing the game state data comprises incorporating a notarization code with the game state data when updating the ledger data structure.

       14. The CRM product suite of claim 13 , wherein the notarization code comprises at least one of the following types of codes: a code from a trusted server, a hashgraph code, and an external ledger hash.

       15. The CRM product suite of claim 1 , wherein the data set comprises one or more blocks of data from the ledger data structure.

       16. The CRM product suite of claim 1 , wherein the data set comprises a chronicle of at least a portion of the gaming event.

       17. The CRM product suite of claim 1 , wherein the identified anomalous game behavior comprises a cheating behavior.

       18. The CRM product suite of claim 1 , wherein the identified anomalous game behavior comprises an abnormal behavior.

       19. The CRM product suite of claim 1 , wherein the anomalous behavior signature comprises at least one of the following signatures: a known game exploit, exceeding a nominal boundary, a vector-based anomaly, a simulation signature, a game constraint, and a game glitch.

       20. The CRM product suite of claim 1 , wherein the gaming event includes at least one of the following game events: a tournament, an eSports event, a gambling event, a board game event, and a video game event.
