Abstract

According to one embodiment, an electronic device includes a first camera, a first polarizer, a second polarizer, and a liquid crystal panel disposed between the first polarizer and the second polarizer. The liquid crystal panel includes a first scanning line, a first signal line intersecting the first scanning line, a first switching element electrically connected to the first scanning line and the first signal line, and a first control electrode electrically connected to the first switching element. The first control electrode overlaps the first camera, and is disposed in an annular first region.

What is claimed is: 
     
       1. An electronic device comprising:
 a first camera; 
 a first polarizer; 
 a second polarizer; and 
 a liquid crystal panel disposed between the first polarizer and the second polarizer, wherein 
 the liquid crystal panel comprises: 
 a first scanning line; 
 a first signal line intersecting the first scanning line; 
 a first switching element electrically connected to the first scanning line and the first signal line; 
 a liquid crystal layer; 
 a pixel electrode; 
 a common electrode disposed between the first camera and the liquid crystal layer; 
 an insulating film disposed between the common electrode and the liquid crystal layer; and 
 a first control electrode electrically connected to the first switching element, 
 the first control electrode overlaps the first camera, and is disposed in an annular first region, 
 the first control electrode comprises an annular first base electrode, and a plurality of first strip electrodes, 
 the first strip electrodes are connected to the first base electrode, 
 the first control electrode is disposed between the insulating film and the liquid crystal layer, and overlaps the common electrode, 
 the pixel electrode comprises a plurality of third strip electrodes, 
 a pitch of the third strip electrodes is equal to a pitch of the first strip electrodes, 
 the first strip electrodes and the third strip electrodes extend in a direction obliquely intersecting the first scanning line, and 
 the first strip electrodes extend parallel to the third strip electrodes. 
 
     
     
       2. The electronic device of  claim 1 , wherein the first scanning line and the first signal line are formed in an arc shape along the annular first region. 
     
     
       3. The electronic device of  claim 1 , wherein
 the common electrode comprises a plurality of second strip electrodes arranged alternately with the first strip electrodes. 
 
     
     
       4. The electronic device of  claim 3 , wherein a polarity of voltage supplied to the first control electrode is opposite to a polarity of voltage supplied to the common electrode. 
     
     
       5. The electronic device of  claim 1 , wherein the liquid crystal panel further comprises a light-shielding layer disposed along an outer edge of the annular first region. 
     
     
       6. The electronic device of  claim 1 , further comprising a second camera disposed on a rear side of the first camera, wherein
 the liquid crystal panel comprises: 
 a second scanning line; 
 a second signal line intersecting the second scanning line; 
 a second switching element electrically connected to the second scanning line and the second signal line; and 
 a second control electrode electrically connected to the second switching element, 
 the second control electrode overlaps the second camera, and is disposed in an annular second region, and 
 the liquid crystal panel is bent between the annular first region and the annular second region. 
 
     
     
       7. The electronic device of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a light source; and 
 a light guide having a side surface opposed to the light source, wherein 
 the light guide has a first through hole, and 
 the first camera overlaps the first through hole. 
 
     
     
       8. The electronic device of  claim 7 , further comprising an optical sheet disposed between the light guide and the liquid crystal panel, wherein
 the optical sheet has a second through hole overlapping the first through hole. 
 
     
     
       9. The electronic device of  claim 8 , further comprising a reflective sheet, wherein
 the light guide is disposed between the reflective sheet and the optical sheet, and 
 the reflective sheet has a third through hole overlapping the first through hole.
