Abstract

Methods and systems for a monitoring system for data collection in an industrial environment including a data collector communicatively coupled to a plurality of input channels connected to data collection points operationally coupled to an industrial chemical process; a data acquisition circuit structured to interpret a plurality of detection values from the collected data, each of the plurality of detection values corresponding to at least one of the plurality of input channels; and an expert system detection circuit structured to detect a process indicator in response to the plurality of detection values, and to initiate a self-organizing data collection response as a result of the process indicator detection.

Claims

 a data collector communicatively coupled to a plurality of input channels connected to data collection points operationally coupled to an industrial chemical process;
 a data acquisition circuit structured to interpret a plurality of detection values from collected data, each of the plurality of detection values corresponding to at least one of the plurality of input channels; and
 an expert system detection circuit structured to detect a process indicator in response to the plurality of detection values, and to initiate a self-organizing data collection response as a result of the process indicator detection,
 wherein the self-organizing data collection response modifies a data collection routine, and
 wherein the modification of the data collection routine modifies an activation state for at least one sensor comprising one of the data collection points.

       2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the process indicator is a detection of at least one of a fault, failure, state change, or process change.

       3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the expert system detection circuit includes an expert system diagnostic tool.

       4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the self-organizing data collection response includes utilization of a self-organizing data pool.

       5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the data collection points further comprise a self-organizing sensor swarm, and wherein the self-organizing data collection response modifies data collection of the self-organizing sensor swarm.

       6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the modification of the data collection routine modifies a detection parameter.
