Mobile terminal

Abstract

A mobile terminal comprises a first frame, a second frame slidably moving in a first direction to switch a first state to a second state, a slide frame slidably moving in the first direction to correspond to sliding of the second frame, a flexible display unit including a first region coupled to the first frame, a second region coupled to the slide frame, and a third region arranged between the first region and the second region and bent to surround the second frame, and an edge curtain covering an end portion in a third direction which is vertical to the first direction of a portion arranged in a front direction of the third region at the second state. A rolling plate may be covered so as not to be exposed in a front direction, whereby esthetic external appearance may be provided.

What is claimed is: 
     
       1. A mobile terminal comprising:
 a first frame; 
 a second frame configured to slidably move with respect to the first frame in a first direction to switch from a first state to a second state and in a second direction opposite to the first direction to switch from the second state to the first state; 
 a slide frame configured to slidably move with respect to the second frame in the first direction or the second direction; 
 a flexible display comprising a first region coupled to the first frame, a second region coupled to the slide frame, and a third region disposed between the first region and the second region, wherein the third region is bent to curve around the second frame; and 
 an edge curtain configured to cover an end portion of the flexible display in a third direction perpendicular to the first direction in the second state. 
 
     
     
       2. The mobile terminal of  claim 1 , wherein the edge curtain comprises a buffering portion positioned at a surface contacting with the flexible display, and comprising elastic material. 
     
     
       3. The mobile terminal of  claim 1 , wherein the edge curtain has an end portion coupled to the second frame, and moves together with the second frame when switching from the first state to the second state,
 wherein the edge curtain is disposed at an end portion of the first region in the first state, and the edge curtain is disposed at an end portion of the third region in the second state. 
 
     
     
       4. The mobile terminal of  claim 3 , wherein the edge curtain comprises a curtain portion disposed towards a forward direction of the mobile terminal, and a curtain fastening portion bent in a perpendicular from an end of the curtain portion and disposed to be overlapped with a side portion of the second frame in the third direction of the mobile terminal. 
     
     
       5. The mobile terminal of  claim 4 , further comprising:
 a side frame covering a bent portion of the third region and placed in the first direction of the mobile terminal; and 
 a fastener for fastening an end portion of the side frame to the second frame in a third direction, wherein the fastener passes through the curtain fastening portion. 
 
     
     
       6. The mobile terminal of  claim 4 , further comprising a rolling plate attached to a rear side of the third region of the flexible display such that bending deformation of the rolling plate corresponds to bending deformation of the third region,
 wherein the curtain portion of the edge curtain comprises a first curtain portion overlapped with the flexible display and a second curtain portion covering an end portion of the rolling plate. 
 
     
     
       7. The mobile terminal of  claim 6 , wherein the second curtain portion is formed in two layers and forms a step with and the first curtain portion which is formed one layer. 
     
     
       8. The mobile terminal of  claim 3 , wherein the first frame comprises:
 a front edge member coupled to the first region to cover the end portion of the first region of the flexible display; and 
 a curtain guide coupled to a rear side of the front member to protect the flexible display and to guide movement of the edge curtain, wherein the edge curtain is disposed between the curtain guide and the front member in the first state. 
 
     
     
       9. The mobile terminal of  claim 1 , wherein the edge curtain comprises:
 a plurality of unit curtains disposed to be overlapped with one another in the first state and disposed to be adjacent to one another in the first direction in the second state, and 
 a curtain fastening portion extends from a unit curtain disposed at the end in the first direction in the second state among the plurality of unit curtains and coupled to the second frame. 
 
     
     
       10. The mobile terminal of  claim 9 , wherein the unit curtain comprises:
 a third curtain portion covering the end portion of the flexible display in the third direction; and 
 a fourth curtain portion disposed in parallel with a side portion of the mobile terminal, wherein the edge curtain further comprises a holding portion configured to form a curve at an end portion of the second frame. 
 
     
     
       11. The mobile terminal of  claim 10 , wherein the first frame comprises a first side portion disposed in the third direction and the second frame comprises a second side portion disposed in the third direction and disposed to be overlapped with the first side portion, and
 wherein the holding portion is disposed between the first side portion and the second side portion. 
 
     
     
       12. The mobile terminal of  claim 9 , wherein the unit curtain comprises:
 a fixing bump disposed at a first end of the edge curtain in the first direction; and 
 a fixing recess disposed at a second end of the edge curtain in the second direction, and coupled with the first fixing bump of a neighboring unit curtain. 
 
     
     
       13. The mobile terminal of  claim 1 , wherein the edge curtain comprises a metal tape having one end coupled to the first frame and extending along the end portion of the flexible display in a third direction, wherein the metal tape is bent at a position corresponding to a curved portion of the third region. 
     
     
       14. The mobile terminal of  claim 1 , wherein the first frame comprises a first side portion disposed in the third direction with respect to a first front portion supporting the first region,
 wherein the second frame comprises a second side portion disposed in the third direction and overlapped with the first side portion, and 
 wherein a space is provided between the second side portion and the first front portion. 
 
     
     
       15. The mobile terminal of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a rolling plate attached to a rear side of the flexible display, wherein the rolling plate comprises: 
 a plurality of support bars extending in the third direction and disposed in parallel in the first direction; 
 an expanded side portion covering a gap space at the end portion of a support bar among the plurality of support bars in the third direction; and 
 a slide hook protruding from the expanded side portion, and 
 wherein the second frame comprises a second side portion disposed in the third direction and a slide rail formed at an inner side of the second side portion and extending in the first direction, wherein the slide hook is inserted into the slide rail.
