Abstract

Systems and methods are provided for production and display of map based slide presentations. The system may provide a map of a geographic region via a map interface and select a portion of the geographic region for creation of a slide. The slide may be created to incorporate all of the data within the selected portion and may be part of a series of slides in a presentation. The user may further provide access controls to data aspects within the slide and the system may use the access controls to regulate display of the slide.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

       1. A system for generating a dynamically linked geographical slide presentation, the system comprising:
 one or more processors and a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to:
 provide map data corresponding to a given geographic region for presentation;
 determine a selection of a portion of the geographic region through an interface, wherein map data corresponding to the selected portion of the geographic region is linked to a geographical data object of a geographic object model defined by a geographic ontology;
 generate a slide of a slide presentation based at least in part on the selection, the slide comprising at least a visual representation of the selected portion of the geographic region;
 determine access control levels corresponding to entities, the access control levels indicating respective features of the slide that each of the entities is permitted to access;
 selectively retain second features to be displayed, from the features, based on a union of the access control levels corresponding to the entities; and
 redact, or refrain from displaying, third features, from the features, that are excluded from the second features.

       2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions further cause the system to:
 determine a particular access control level corresponding to a particular entity of the entities; and
 determine an extent to which the particular access control level exceeds the union; and
 populate additional features, out of the third features, that are commensurate with the extent, to the particular entity.

       3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the generation of the slide further comprises:
 generating a link to a second slide, from the slide, that comprises in-depth information relating to the visual representation; and the instructions further cause the system to:
 determine second access control levels corresponding to entities, the second access control levels indicating fourth features of the second slide that each of the entities is permitted to access;
 selectively retain fifth features, from the fourth features, based on a union of the second access control levels corresponding to the entities; and
 redact, or refrain from displaying, sixth features, from the fourth features, that are excluded from the fifth features.

       4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the geographical data object comprises information regarding populations, weather conditions, soil conditions, or climate history.

       5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the geographical data object comprises GPS coordinates.

       6. The system of claim 3 , wherein the generating of the link is based on a user input, and the in-depth information corresponds to a different data object compared to the geographical data object.

       7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the determination of the selection of a portion of the geographic region through the interface further comprises determining map features to include within the selected portion.

       8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions further cause the system to:
 determine a second selection of a second portion of the geographic region through the interface; and
 generate a second slide of the slide presentation based at least in part on the second selection, the second slide including at least a visual representation of the selected second portion of the geographic region.

       9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the generation of the first slide of the presentation comprises:
 generating a slide data object according to the selection of the portion of the geographic region, wherein the slide data object references the selected portion of the geographic region; and
 linking the slide data object to map data corresponding to the selected portion of the given geographic region in the presentation of the first slide.

       10. The system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions further cause the system to:
 generate a linear or hierarchical slide presentation comprising the slide and additional linked slides.

       11. A method for generating a dynamically linked geographical slide presentation, the method being performed on a computer system having one or more physical processors programmed with computer program instructions that, when executed by the one or more physical processors, cause the computer system to perform the method, the method comprising:
 providing, by the computer system, map data corresponding to a given geographic region for presentation;
 determining, by the computer system, a selection of a portion of the geographic region through an interface, wherein map data corresponding to the selected portion of the geographic region is linked to a geographical data object of a geographic object model defined by a geographic ontology;
 generating, by the computer system, a slide of a slide presentation based at least in part on the selection, the slide comprising at least a visual representation of the selected portion of the geographic region;
 determining access control levels corresponding to entities, the access control levels indicating respective features of the slide that each of the entities is permitted to access;
 selectively retaining second features to be displayed, from the features, based on a union of the access control levels corresponding to the entities; and
 redacting, or refraining from displaying, third features, from the features, that are excluded from the second features.

       12. The method of claim 11 , further comprising:
 determining, by the computer system, a particular access control level corresponding to a particular entity of the entities;
 determining, by the computer system, an extent to which the particular access control level exceeds the union; and
 populating, by the computer system, additional features, out of the third features, that are commensurate with the extent, to the particular entity.

       13. The method of claim 11 , wherein the generation of the slide further comprises:
 generating a link to a second slide, from the slide, that comprises in-depth information relating to the visual representation; and the method further comprises:
 determining second access control levels corresponding to entities, the second access control levels indicating fourth features of the second slide that each of the entities is permitted to access;
 selectively retaining fifth features, from the fourth features, based on a union of the second access control levels corresponding to the entities; and
 redacting, or refraining from displaying, sixth features, from the fourth features, that are excluded from the fifth features.
