Instruction color book painting for dual-screen devices
Abstract
A dual-screen computing device includes two separate displays that are coupled to an interconnecting hinge. A hinge detector detects movement or position of the hinge, and the positions of the displays may be determined based on the hinge movement or position. The positions of the displays relative to each other may then be used to determine which mode of operation the dual-screen computing device is operating (e.g., tent mode, open, closed, etc.). Additionally, the dual-screen computing device may include various sensors that detect different environmental, orientation, location, and device-specific information. Applications are configured to operate differently based on the mode of operation and, optionally, the sensor data detected by the sensors.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1. One or more computer-storage memory devices comprising executable instructions operating a dual-screen computing device comprising a first display and a second display that are both coupled to a hinge, the one or more computer-storage memory devices comprising:
a hinge sensor configured to monitor movement of the hinge for use in determining a position of the first display relative to the second display;
a mode detector configured to determine the dual-screen computing device is operating in a tent mode of operation based on the position of the first display relative to the second display; and
an application configured to perform at least one function in a manner based on the tent mode of operation of the dual-screen computing device, wherein the at least one function comprises:
presenting a reference image on the second display,
displaying, on the second display, a user input from the first display, and
presenting the user input received on the first display on the second display in conjunction with the reference image.
2. The one or more computer-storage memory devices of claim 1 , wherein the application comprises a paint application.
3. The one or more computer-storage memory devices of claim 1 , wherein:
the user input is a drawing corresponding to the reference image.
4. The one or more computer-storage memory devices of claim 1 , wherein the at least one function further comprises providing feedback at least by comparing the user input to an image and providing a rating of an accuracy of the user input relative to the image.
5. The one or more computer-storage memory devices of claim 4 , wherein the feedback is audio feedback.
6. The one or more computer-storage memory devices of claim 1 , wherein, in the tent mode of operation, the first display is positioned more than 180° from the second display.
7. The one or more computer-storage memory devices of claim 1 , wherein the application is further configured to:
present a grid on each of the first display and the second display to provide a plurality of reference points on each of the first display and the second display.
8. A dual-screen computing device, comprising:
a first display;
a second display;
a hinge coupled to the first display and to the second display;
a hinge sensor configured to monitor movement of the hinge for use in determining a position of the first display relative to the second display;
at least one processor; and
a computer-storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:
determine the dual-screen computing device is operating in a tent mode of operation based on the position of the first display relative to the second display,
execute an application stored in the computer-storage medium, the application configured to perform at least one function in a manner based on the tent mode of operation of the dual-screen computing device, wherein the at least one function comprises:
presenting a reference image on the second display,
displaying, on the second display, a user input from the first display, and
presenting the user input received on the first display on the second display in conjunction with the reference image.
9. The dual-screen computing device of claim 8 , wherein the application comprises a paint application.
10. The dual-screen computing device of claim 8 , wherein:
the user input is a drawing corresponding to the reference image.
11. The dual-screen computing device of claim 8 , wherein the processor is further configured to:
provide feedback at least by comparing the user input to an image and providing a rating of an accuracy of the user input relative to the image.
12. The dual-screen computing device of claim 11 , wherein the feedback is audio feedback.
13. The dual-screen computing device of claim 8 , wherein, in the tent mode of operation, the first display is positioned more than 180° from the second display.
14. The dual-screen computing device of claim 8 , wherein the processor is further configured to present a grid on each of the first display and the second display to provide a plurality of reference points on each of the first display and the second display.
15. A method for operating a dual-screen computing device comprising a first display and a second display that are both coupled to a hinge, the method comprising:
monitoring movement of the hinge for use in determining a position of the first display relative to the second display;
determining the dual-screen computing device is operating in a tent mode of operation based on the position of the first display relative to the second display;
executing an application to perform at least one function in a manner based on the tent mode of operation of the dual-screen computing device, the at least one function comprising:
presenting a reference image on the second display,
displaying, on the second display, a user input from the first display, and
presenting the user input received on the first display on the second display in conjunction with the reference image.
16. The method of claim 15 , wherein the application comprises a paint application.
17. The method of claim 15 , wherein:
the user input is a drawing corresponding to the reference image.
18. The method of claim 15 , further comprising providing audio feedback at least by comparing the user input to an image and providing a rating of an accuracy of the user input relative to the image.
19. The method of claim 15 , wherein, in the tent mode of operation, the first display is positioned more than 180° from the second display.
20. The method of claim 15 , further comprising presenting a grid on each of the first display and the second display to provide a plurality of reference points on each of the first display and the second display.Cited by (0)
