Abstract
Systems and methods provide measures of user workload when generating units of work based on chat sessions between users of a collaboration environment are described herein. Exemplary implementations may: manage environment state information maintaining a collaboration environment, obtain content information characterizing content of chat sessions between users, identify potential units of work, identify potential assignees of the potential units of work, obtain the user records of the potential assignees, generate views of a workload display pane, and/or perform other operations.

1. A method to provide visual representation of values of a workload parameter characterizing user workload when generating units of work based on chat sessions between users of a collaboration environment, the method being implemented in a computer system comprising one or more physical processors, and a computer-readable medium storing machine-readable instructions that, when executed by the one or more physical processors, cause the computer system to perform the method comprising:
managing environment state information maintaining a collaboration environment, the collaboration environment being configured to facilitate interaction by users with the collaboration environment, the environment state information including user records and work unit records, the user records including values of user parameters of the users, the user parameters including a workload parameter characterizing workload of the users, the work unit records describing units of work assigned to, created by, and/or managed by individual users within the collaboration environment;
obtaining content information characterizing content of chat sessions between the users of the collaboration environment, wherein the chat sessions facilitate synchronous communication between the users, wherein the chat sessions include a first chat session between a first user and a second user, including obtaining first content information characterizing first content of the first chat session;
identifying potential units of work to be generated for one or more of the users based on the content of the chat sessions, including identifying a first potential unit of work based on the first content information characterizing the first content of the first chat session;
identifying potential assignees of the potential units of work based on the content of the chat sessions, including identifying a third user and a fourth user as potential assignees of the first potential unit of work based on the first content information characterizing the first content of the first chat session;
obtaining the user records of the potential assignees, including obtaining the values of the workload parameters of the potential assignees, including obtaining a first user record for the third user and a second user record for the fourth user, the first user record including a first set of values for the workload parameter of the third user, and the second user record including a second set of values for the workload parameter of the fourth user; and
generating views of a workload display pane in graphical user interfaces of the chat sessions, the workload display pane providing visual representation of the values of the workload parameter of the potential assignees, including generating a view of a first workload display pane in the graphical user interfaces of the first chat session, the first workload display pane providing the visual representation of the first set of values for the workload parameter of the third user and the second set of values for the workload parameter of the fourth user.
2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
implementing an instance of the first chat session to facilitate synchronous communication between the first user and the second user, and transmitting textual communications that make up the first chat session to client computing platforms for presentation through the graphical user interfaces, the graphical user interfaces being presented on the client computing platforms within and/or outside the collaboration environment, including presenting the first chat session to the first user via a first graphical user interface presented on a first client computing platform associated with the first user, and/or presenting the first chat session to the second user via a second graphical user interface presented on a second client computing platform associated with the second user, wherein the first graphical user interface and/or the second graphical user interface includes the view of the first workload display pane.
3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the graphical user interfaces further include a user interface element through which selection thereof facilitates generation of the units of work corresponding to the potential units of work.
4. The method of claim 3 , further comprising:
in response to obtaining user input conveying the selection of the user interface element, generating the units of work corresponding to the potential units of work based on the content of the chat sessions, wherein the generating the units of work corresponding to the potential units of work includes assigning individual units of work to individual ones of the potential assignees, including in response to obtaining the selection of the user interface element via the first graphical user interface and/or the second graphical user interface, generating a first unit of work corresponding to the first potential unit of work, and assign the first unit of work to the third user.
5. The method of claim 4 , further comprising:
determining which of the potential assignees is to be assigned to the individual units of work based on the content of the chat sessions, including determining the third user is to be assigned to the first unit of work based on the first content information characterizing the first content of the first chat session.

The method of claim 4 , wherein the generating the units of work corresponding to the potential units of work based on the content of the chat sessions includes automatically generating one or more values describing the units of work based on the content of the chat sessions, such that the generating the first unit of work includes automatically generating a first set of values describing the first unit of work based on the content of the first chat session, wherein the first set of values includes a unit of work assignee and one or more of a unit of work title, a unit of work description, or a unit of work due-date, wherein the unit of work assignee is specified as the third user.
7. The method of claim 4 , wherein the first chat session is specific to a second unit of work, and wherein the first unit of work is generated to be subordinate to the second unit of work.

The method of claim 1 , wherein the visual representation of the values of the workload parameter includes a plot line plotted with respect to a date axis and a workload axis, wherein the date axis shows a date range, and the workload axis represents quantities of the workload, such that the plot line represents the quantities of the workload of the users at different dates along the date range.
9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the quantities of the workload are expressed as quantities of units of time or quantities of units of work production.
10. The method of claim 8 , wherein the workload display pane further comprises visual indication of workload capacity of the individual users.
11. A system configured to provide visual representation of values of a workload parameter characterizing user workload when generating units of work based on chat sessions between users of a collaboration environment, the system comprising:
one or more physical processors; and
a computer-readable medium storing machine-readable instructions that, when executed by the one or more physical processors, cause the system to perform operations of:
manage environment state information maintaining a collaboration environment, the collaboration environment being configured to facilitate interaction by users with the collaboration environment, the environment state information including user records and work unit records, the user records including values of user parameters of the users, the user parameters including a workload parameter characterizing workload of the users, the work unit records describing units of work assigned to, created by, and/or managed by individual users within the collaboration environment;
obtain content information characterizing content of chat sessions between the users of the collaboration environment, wherein the chat sessions facilitate synchronous communication between the users, wherein the chat sessions include a first chat session between a first user and a second user, such that first content information characterizing first content of the first chat session is obtained;
identify potential units of work to be generated for one or more of the users based on the content of the chat sessions, such that a first potential unit of work is identified based on the first content information characterizing the first content of the first chat session;
identify potential assignees of the potential units of work based on the content of the chat sessions, such that a third user and a fourth user are identified as potential assignees of the first potential unit of work based on the first content information characterizing the first content of the first chat session;
obtain the user records of the potential assignees, including obtaining the values of the workload parameters of the potential assignees, such that a first user record for the third user and a second user record for the fourth user are obtained, the first user record including a first set of values for the workload parameter of the third user, and the second user record including a second set of values for the workload parameter of the fourth user; and
generate views of a workload display pane in graphical user interfaces of the chat sessions, the workload display pane providing visual representation of the values of the workload parameter of the potential assignees, such that a view of a first workload display pane is generated in the graphical user interfaces of the first chat session, the first workload display pane providing the visual representation of the first set of values for the workload parameter of the third user and the second set of values for the workload parameter of the fourth user.
12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the one or more physical processors are further configured by the machine-readable instructions to:
implement an instance of the first chat session to facilitate synchronous communication between the first user and the second user, and transmit textual communications that make up the first chat session to client computing platforms for presentation through the graphical user interfaces, the graphical user interfaces being presented on the client computing platforms within and/or outside the collaboration environment, such that the first chat session is presented to the first user via a first graphical user interface presented on a first client computing platform associated with the first user, and/or the first chat session is presented to the second user via a second graphical user interface presented on a second client computing platform associated with the second user, wherein the first graphical user interface and/or the second graphical user interface includes the view of the first workload display pane.
13. The system of claim 11 , wherein the graphical user interfaces further include a user interface element through which selection thereof facilitates generation of the units of work corresponding to the potential units of work.
14. The system of claim 13 , wherein the one or more physical processors are further configured by the machine-readable instructions to:
in response to obtaining user input conveying the selection of the user interface element, generate the units of work corresponding to the potential units of work based on the content of the chat sessions, wherein generating the units of work corresponding to the potential units of work includes assigning individual units of work to individual ones of the potential assignees, such that in response to obtaining the selection of the user interface element via the first graphical user interface and/or the second graphical user interface, generate a first unit of work corresponding to the first potential unit of work, and assign the first unit of work to the third user.
15. The system of claim 14 , wherein the one or more physical processors are further configured by the machine-readable instructions to:
determine which of the potential assignees is to be assigned to the individual units of work based on the content of the chat sessions, such that the third user is determined to be assigned to the first unit of work based on the first content information characterizing the first content of the first chat session.

The system of claim 14 , wherein generating the units of work corresponding to the potential units of work based on the content of the chat sessions includes automatically generating one or more values describing the units of work based on the content of the chat sessions, such that generating the first unit of work includes generating a first set of values describing the first unit of work based on the content of the first chat session, wherein the first set of values includes a unit of work assignee and one or more of a unit of work title, a unit of work description, or a unit of work due-date, wherein the unit of work assignee is specified as the third user.
17. The system of claim 14 , wherein the first chat session is specific to a second unit of work, and wherein the first unit of work is generated to be subordinate to the second unit of work.

The system of claim 11 , wherein the visual representation of the values of the workload parameter includes a plot line plotted with respect to a date axis and a workload axis, wherein the date axis shows a date range, and the workload axis represents quantities of the workload, such that the plot line represents the quantities of the workload of the users at different dates along the date range.
19. The system of claim 18 , wherein the quantities of the workload are expressed as quantities of units of time or quantities of units of production.
