Abstract

The technology disclosed herein enables automation of component sourcing when designing a process system in an industrial environment. In a particular embodiment, a method includes receiving design specifications of a process system in an industrial environment via a system design application. The method further includes determining components to implement the process system from the design specifications and identifying a first subset of the components for sourcing from an external provider. The method also includes populating the first subset into a component sourcing application.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

       1. A system for automating component sourcing, comprising:
 a memory that stores executable components; and
 a processor, operatively coupled to the memory, that executes the executable components, the executable components comprising:
 a sourcing component configured to obtain, in a design application, design specifications and an indication of a desired output of a process system in an industrial environment and identify one or more source components and one or more dynamic components corresponding to the design specifications;
 a design component configured to configure parameters of the one or more dynamic components to achieve the desired output of the process system; and
 an aggregating component configured to generate, in a sourcing application, a bill of materials comprising the one or more source components and the one or more dynamic components.

       2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the executable components further comprise a component configured to present, via an industrial environment dashboard, a dashboard view associated with the process system including the bill of materials for the process system.

       3. The system of claim 2 , wherein the component is further configured to provide, in the industrial environment dashboard, options to execute the design application and the sourcing application.

       4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the process system corresponds to an operation of one or more assets in the industrial environment.

       5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more source components are sourced from an external provider.

       6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the parameters of each of the one or more dynamic components are obtained from one among an external provider and the design specifications.

       7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the parameters of each of the one or more dynamic components correspond to at least one among a type, a function, and a manufacturing origin.

       8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more source components are included in a process file accessible by the design application and the sourcing application, and wherein to generate the bill of materials, the aggregating component is further configured to obtain, in the sourcing application, the one or more source components from the process file and add the one or more dynamic components to the process file.

       9. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having stored thereon instructions that, in response to execution, cause a system comprising a processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:
 obtaining, in a design application, design specifications and an indication of a desired output of a process system in an industrial environment;
 identifying one or more source components and one or more dynamic components corresponding to the design specifications;
 configuring parameters of the one or more dynamic components to achieve the desired output of the process system; and
 generating, in a sourcing application, a bill of materials comprising the one or more source components and the one or more dynamic components.

       10. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the operations further comprise presenting, via an industrial environment dashboard, a dashboard view associated with the process system including the bill of materials for the process system.

       11. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the operations further comprise providing, in the industrial environment dashboard, options to execute the design application and the sourcing application.

       12. A method for automating component sourcing, comprising:
 obtaining, in a design application, design specifications and an indication of a desired output of a process system in an industrial environment;
 identifying one or more source components and one or more dynamic components corresponding to the design specifications;
 configuring parameters of the one or more dynamic components to achieve the desired output of the process system; and
 generating, in a sourcing application, a bill of materials comprising the one or more source components and the one or more dynamic components.

       13. The method of claim 12 , further comprising:
 presenting, via an industrial environment dashboard, a dashboard view associated with the process system including the bill of materials for the process system.

       14. The method of claim 13 , further comprising:
 in the industrial environment dashboard, providing options to execute the design application and the sourcing application.

       15. The method of claim 12 , wherein the process system corresponds to an operation of one or more assets in the industrial environment.

       16. The method of claim 12 , wherein the one or more source components are sourced from an external provider.

       17. The method of claim 16 , wherein the parameters of each of the one or more dynamic components correspond to at least one among a type, a function, and a manufacturing origin.

       18. The method of claim 12 , wherein the parameters of each of the one or more dynamic components are obtained from one among an external provider and the design specifications.

       19. The method of claim 12 , wherein the one or more source components are included in a process file accessible by the design application and the sourcing application.

       20. The method of claim 19 , wherein generating the bill of materials comprises obtaining, in the sourcing application, the one or more source components from the process file and adding the one or more dynamic components to the process file.
