Abstract
A syringe rack securable to a surface of a fixture and configured for facilitating a sterile transfer of fluid from a non-sterile environment to a sterile environment. The syringe rack includes a securing portion and a syringe-receiving station. The syringe-receiving portion is coupled to the securing portion and configured to receive the syringe in a selectively releasable coupling arrangement where the syringe is oriented such that an opening in a barrel of a syringe projects away from the fixture when the syringe is received by the syringe-receiving station and when the securing portion is secured to the surface of the fixture.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1. A medical rack for holding a syringe, the medical rack comprising:
a rack securing portion including:
a plurality of rack securing surfaces extending from a bottom region of the rack securing portion, the plurality of rack securing surfaces includes:
two upper rack securing surfaces extending from the bottom region of the rack securing portion; and
a lower rack securing surface, beneath the two upper rack securing surfaces, and extending from an extended section of the rack securing portion, the extended section extends from between the two upper rack securing surfaces; and
a lower syringe engaging planar surface extending from a top of the rack securing portion; and
a syringe receiving portion forming an attachment with the rack securing portion, the syringe receiving portion including:
an upper syringe engaging planar surface extending from a bottom of the syringe receiving portion; and
a top syringe engaging planar surface extending from a top of the syringe receiving portion.
2. The medical rack of claim 1 , wherein the attachment between the syringe receiving portion and the rack securing portion is formed by the lower syringe engaging planar surface and the upper syringe engaging planar surface.
3. The medical rack of claim 2 , wherein the attachment forms a slot for receiving a tab of the syringe.
4. The medical rack of claim 3 , further comprising an intermediate spacing portion between the lower syringe engaging planar surface and the upper syringe engaging planar surface forming the slot.
5. The medical rack of claim 1 , wherein the upper syringe engaging planar surface of the syringe receiving portion and the lower syringe engaging planar surface of the rack securing portion include a plurality of aligned recesses forming a row of syringe receiving stations.
6. The medical rack of claim 1 , wherein a first recess in the upper syringe engaging planar surface aligns with a second recess in the top syringe engaging planar surface and a third recess in the lower syringe engaging planar surface.
7. The medical rack of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of rack securing surfaces are non-parallel with the lower syringe engaging planar surface of the rack securing portion.
8. The medical rack of claim 1 , wherein the syringe receiving portion includes a planar section adjoining the upper syringe engaging planar surface to the top syringe engaging planar surface.
9. The medical rack of claim 8 , wherein the top syringe engaging planar surface, the planar section, and the upper syringe engaging planar surface form a U-shape.
10. The medical rack of claim 1 , wherein the two upper rack securing surfaces include:
a first upper rack securing surface on a first outer end of the medical rack; and
a second upper rack securing surface on a second outer end of the medical rack.
11. The medical rack of claim 1 , wherein the lower rack securing surface and the two upper rack securing surfaces extend substantially perpendicularly from a front planar surface of the rack securing portion.
12. A medical rack for holding a syringe, the medical rack comprising:
a rack securing portion including:
a plurality of rack securing surfaces, extending from the rack securing portion, including:
two upper rack securing surfaces extending substantially perpendicularly from the rack securing portion; and
a lower rack securing surface, beneath the two upper rack securing surfaces, and extending from an extended section of the rack securing portion, the extended section extends from between the two upper rack securing surfaces; and
a lower syringe engaging planar surface extending from a top of the rack securing portion; and
a syringe receiving portion including:
an upper syringe engaging planar surface extending from a bottom of the syringe receiving portion and attaching the syringe receiving portion to the rack securing portion to form a syringe receiving station.
13. The medical rack of claim 12 , wherein an attachment between the syringe receiving portion and the rack securing portion is formed by the lower syringe engaging planar surface coupling to the upper syringe engaging planar surface.
14. The medical rack of claim 12 , wherein the syringe receiving portion further includes a top syringe engaging planar surface extending from a top of the syringe receiving portion to form the syringe receiving station.
15. The medical rack of claim 14 , wherein the top syringe engaging planar surface and the upper syringe engaging planar surface extend perpendicularly from an adjoining planar surface of the syringe receiving portion.
16. The medical rack of claim 14 , wherein the syringe receiving station includes a first recess formed in the top syringe engaging planar surface, a second recess formed in the upper syringe engaging planar surface, and a third recess formed in the lower syringe engaging planar surface.
17. A medical rack for holding a syringe, the medical rack comprising:
a rack securing portion including:
a planar body;
two upper rack securing surfaces extending from the rack securing portion;
a lower rack securing surface, beneath the two upper rack securing surfaces, and extending from an extended section of the rack securing portion, the extended section extends from between the two upper rack securing surfaces; and
a lower syringe engaging planar surface extending from a top of the planar body; and
a syringe receiving portion forming an attachment with the rack securing portion, the syringe receiving portion including:
an upper syringe engaging planar surface extending from a bottom of the syringe receiving portion; and
a top syringe engaging planar surface extending from a top of the syringe receiving portion.
18. The medical rack of claim 17 , wherein the planar body includes a top detachable portion and a bottom detachable portion with the lower syringe engaging planar surface extending from the bottom detachable portion and the upper syringe engaging planar surface extending from the top detachable portion.Cited by (0)
