Abstract
A paper pulp pressure apparatus includes a body casing having a pipe member and a leg member. The leg member extends diagonally from the pipe member. The pipe member includes an input end for receiving unfiltered fluid and an output end for outputting filtered fluid. The leg member includes a basket for receiving the unfiltered fluid from the input end. The basket includes a cavity which receives a rotor. The leg member includes a drain outlet which is in fluid communication with the cavity of the basket so as to receive contaminants from the unfiltered fluid unable to pass through a filtering media included in the basket.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1. A method of separating pulp slurry into two outflows using a paper pulp pressure screen including a casing, the method including:
receiving the pulp slurry into an input end of a pipe member of the casing;
directing the pulp slurry into a cavity of a basket defined by filtering media housed within a leg member of the casing, the leg member extending outward at an angle from the pipe member thereby defining a y-configuration of the casing;
separating the pulp slurry by the basket into a filtered pulp slurry outflow which is pulp slurry passing through the filtering media, and a contaminant outflow which includes contaminants of the pulp slurry not able to pass through the filtering media but that pass through an opening not including the filtering media;
continuously outputting the filtered pulp slurry outflow through a first output end of two output ends of the casing; and
continuously outputting a contaminant outflow through a second output end of the two output ends.
2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
continuously rotating a rotor housed within the basket of the leg member thereby preventing the contaminants of the pulp slurry not able to pass through the filtering media from accumulating on the filtering media and enabling the contaminant outflow through the opening not including the filtering media.
3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the continuously rotating includes continuously rotating a rotor including a plurality of blades.
4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the continuously rotating includes continuously rotating a rotor including 8 blades.
5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the continuously rotating includes continuously rotating a rotor including 12 blades.
6. The method of claim 2 , further comprising:
driving a motor to continuously rotate the rotor.
7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the directing of the pulp slurry includes directing a flow of the pulp slurry into the basket along a length of the leg member.
8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first output end is of the pipe member of the casing.
9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second output end is of the leg member of the casing.
10. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
maintaining a flow rate of the paper pulp pressure screen using, in part, a flow meter.
11. A method of separating pulp slurry into two outflows using a paper pulp pressure screen including a casing, the method including:
receiving the pulp slurry into an input end of a pipe member of the casing;
directing the pulp slurry into a cavity of a basket along a length of the basket, the basket being defined by filtering media housed within a leg member of the casing, the leg member extending outward at an angle from the pipe member thereby defining a y-configuration of the casing;
driving a motor connected to a rotor including a plurality of blades housed within the basket of the leg member to continuously rotate the blades thereby preventing contaminants of the pulp slurry not able to pass through the filtering media from accumulating on the filtering media;
separating the pulp slurry by the basket into a filtered pulp slurry outflow which is pulp slurry passing through the filtering media, and a contaminant outflow which includes the contaminants of the pulp slurry not able to pass through the filtering media but that pass through an opening not including the filtering media;
continuously outputting the filtered pulp slurry outflow through a first output end of two output ends of the casing; and
continuously outputting a contaminant outflow through a second output end of the two output ends.
12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the plurality of blades include 8 blades.
13. The method of claim 11 , wherein the plurality of blades include 12 blades.
14. The method of claim 11 , wherein the first output end is of the pipe member of the casing.
15. The method of claim 11 , wherein the second output end is of the leg member of the casing.Cited by (0)
