Abstract

The present invention relates to a method and device for transmitting block division information for efficient image coding in a video compression technique for a high-definition security camera. To this end, the present invention obtains block division information from a bitstream, determines the division form of an image by computing and predicting omitted information if there is omitted information in the obtained information, and performs video decoding in the unit of a divided block.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

       1. A method for decoding a video signal, with a decoding apparatus, comprising:
 determining, with the decoding apparatus, a current block by dividing a coding block,
 wherein the coding block is divided recursively based on at least one of a quad-division or a binary-division,
 wherein the quad-division is performed without extracting first division information for the quad-division from a bitstream, and
 wherein the binary-division is performed by using second division information for the binary-division extracted from the bitstream, the second division information indicating that the binary-division is used or specifying a division direction of the binary-division;
 obtaining, with the decoding apparatus, quantized coefficients from the bitstream;
 obtaining, with the decoding apparatus, a residual signal by performing inverse-quantization and inverse-transform on the quantized coefficients;
 generating, with the decoding apparatus, a prediction signal of the current block by performing intra prediction based on reconstructed pixel values of a neighboring block adjacent to the current block; and
 reconstructing, with the decoding apparatus, the current block using the residual signal and the prediction signal.

       2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first division information indicates that the coding block is divided into four sub-blocks in horizontal and vertical directions.

       3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the division direction is one of a horizontal direction or a vertical direction.

       4. The method of claim 3 , wherein two sub-blocks obtained by the binary-division are a same size.

       5. A method for encoding a video signal, with an encoding apparatus, comprising:
 determining, with the encoding apparatus, a current block by dividing a coding block;
 generating, with the encoding apparatus, a prediction signal of the current block by performing intra prediction based on reconstructed pixel values of a neighboring block adjacent to the current block;
 obtaining, with the encoding apparatus, a residual signal of the current block based on the prediction signal;
 obtaining, with the encoding apparatus, quantized coefficients by performing transform and quantization on the residual signal; and
 encoding, with the encoding apparatus, the quantized coefficients to generate a bitstream,
 wherein the coding block is divided recursively based on at least one of a quad-division or a binary-division,
 wherein first division information for the quad-division is not encoded into the bitstream, and
 wherein second division information for the binary-division is encoded into the bitstream, the second division information indicating that the binary-division is used or specifying a division direction of the binary-division.

       6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the first division information indicates that the coding block is divided into four sub-blocks in horizontal and vertical directions.

       7. The method of claim 5 , wherein the division direction is one of a horizontal direction or a vertical direction.

       8. The method of claim 7 , wherein two sub-blocks obtained by the binary-division are a same size.

       9. A transmission method of a video signal with a transmission apparatus, comprising:
 determining, with the transmission apparatus, a current block by dividing a coding block;
 generating, with the transmission apparatus, a prediction signal of the current block by performing intra prediction based on reconstructed pixel values of a neighboring block adjacent to the current block;
 obtaining, with the transmission apparatus, a residual signal of the current block based on the prediction signal;
 obtaining, with the transmission apparatus, quantized coefficients by performing transform and quantization on the residual signal;
 encoding, with the transmission apparatus, the quantized coefficients to generate a bitstream; and
 transmitting, with the transmission apparatus, the bitstream including the video signal,
 wherein the coding block is divided recursively based on at least one of a quad-division or a binary-division,
 wherein first division information for the quad-division is not encoded into the bitstream, and
 wherein second division information for the binary-division is encoded into the bitstream, the second division information indicating that the binary-division is used or specifying a division direction of the binary-division.

       10. The transmission method of claim 9 , wherein the first division information indicates that the coding block is divided into four sub-blocks in horizontal and vertical directions.

       11. The transmission method of claim 9 , wherein the division direction is one of a horizontal direction or a vertical direction.

       12. The transmission method of claim 11 , wherein two sub-blocks obtained by the binary-division are a same size.
