Method and system for determining transferability of resources
Abstract
A server computer system, comprises a processor; a communications module coupled to the processor; and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory storing instructions that, when executed, configure the processor to obtain resource availability data for resources maintained by a resource provider; receive, via the communications module and from a third party server computer system, session data that includes a request to perform an operation; determine, based on the session data, that the resources are transferable to perform the operation; and responsive to determining that the resources are transferable to perform the operation, update a graphical user interface displayed on a client device to indicate that the resources are transferable to perform the operation.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1. A server computer system, comprising:
a processor;
a communications module coupled to the processor; and
a memory coupled to the processor, the memory storing instructions that, when executed, configure the processor to:
obtain resource availability data for resources maintained by a resource provider;
analyze the resource availability data to obtain an identifier associated with the resource availability data;
receive, via the communications module and from a third party server computer system, session data that includes a request to perform an operation;
analyze the session data to obtain an identifier associated with the session data;
consult a database to determine that the resources are transferable to the third party server computer system to perform the operation based on the identifier associated with the session data and the identifier associated with the resource availability data; and
responsive to determining that the resources are transferable to the third party server computer system to perform the operation, update a graphical user interface displayed on a client device to indicate that the resources are transferable to perform the operation.
2. The server computer system of claim 1 , wherein the session data is received by way of a first application programming interface redirect initiated by the third party server computer system.
3. The server computer system of claim 1 , wherein the resource availability data is obtained by way of a second application programming interface associated with the resource provider.
4. The server computer system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further configure the processor to:
receive, from the client device, a signal that includes an identifier for obtaining the resource availability data from the resource provider.
5. The server computer system of claim 1 , wherein when updating the graphical user interface displayed on the client device to indicate that the resources are transferable to perform the operation, the instructions, when executed, further configure the processor to:
enable a selectable option for transferring the resources to perform the operation.
6. The server computer system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further configure the processor to:
responsive to receiving the session data that includes the request to perform the operation, obtain updated resource availability data from the resource provider to determine that resources are available to perform the operation.
7. The server computer system of claim 1 , wherein the request to perform the operation includes a request to transfer resources from an account that is not associated with the resource provider to an account that is associated with the third party server computer system.
8. The server computer system of claim 1 , wherein the request to perform the operation includes a pay-by-bank request.
9. The server computer system of claim 8 , wherein performing the operation includes performing operations to transfer at least a portion of the resources from a data record maintained by the resource provider to a data record maintained by the third party server computer system.
10. The server computer system of claim 1 , wherein the identifier associated with the session data identifies a merchant and the identifier associated with the resource availability data identifies of a gift card of a particular type.
11. The server computer system of claim 10 , wherein consulting the database to determine that the resources are transferable to the third party server computer system to perform the operation includes determining that the merchant accept the gift card of the particular type.
12. A computer-implemented method, comprising:
obtaining resource availability data for resources maintained by a resource provider;
analyzing the resource availability data to obtain an identifier associated with the resource availability data;
receiving, from a third party server computer system, session data that includes a request to perform an operation;
analyzing the session data to obtain an identifier associated with the session data;
consulting a database to determine that the resources are transferable to the third party server computer system to perform the operation based on the identifier associated with the session data and the identifier associated with the resource availability data; and
responsive to determining that the resources are transferable to the third party server computer system to perform the operation, updating a graphical user interface displayed on a client device to indicate that the resources are transferable to perform the operation.
13. The computer-implemented method of claim 12 , wherein the session data is received by way of a first application programming interface redirect initiated by the third party server computer system.
14. The computer-implemented method of claim 12 , wherein the resource availability data is obtained by way of a second application programming interface associated with the resource provider.
15. The computer-implemented method of claim 12 , further comprising:
receiving, from the client device, a signal that includes an identifier for obtaining the resource availability data from the resource provider.
16. The computer-implemented method of claim 12 , wherein when updating the graphical user interface displayed on the client device to indicate that the resources are transferable to perform the operation, the method further comprises:
enabling a selectable option for transferring the resources to perform the operation.
17. The computer-implemented method of claim 12 , further comprising:
responsive to receiving the session data that includes the request to perform the operation, obtaining updated resource availability data from the resource provider to determine that resources are available to perform the operation.
18. The computer-implemented method of claim 12 , wherein the identifier associated with the session data identifies a merchant and the identifier associated with the resource availability data identifies of a gift card of a particular type.
19. The computer-implemented method of claim 18 , wherein consulting the database to determine that the resources are transferable to the third party server computer system to perform the operation includes determining that the merchant accept the gift card of the particular type.
20. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising processor-executable instructions which, when executed, configure a processor to:
obtain resource availability data for resources maintained by a resource provider;
analyze the resource availability data to obtain an identifier associated with the resource availability data;
receive, via a communications module and from a third party server computer system, session data that includes a request to perform an operation;
analyze the session data to obtain an identifier associated with the session data;
consult a database to determine that the resources are transferable to the third party server computer system to perform the operation based on the identifier associated with the session data and the identifier associated with the resource availability data; and
responsive to determining that the resources are transferable to the third party server computer system to perform the operation, update a graphical user interface displayed on a client device to indicate that the resources are transferable to perform the operation.Cited by (0)
