Photosensitive member cartridge and process cartridge
Abstract
A cartridge includes a drum unit and a developing unit. The developing unit is mountable in a space between first and second walls of the drum unit. While the developing unit is being mounted to the drum unit, in a posture in which the drum unit is mounted in the main assembly, the handle portion is moved downward in a direction of gravity and the developing unit is rotated so that the developing roller is moved closer to the photosensitive drum. In a state in which the developing unit is mounted to the drum unit, an urged portion of the developing unit is urged by an urging portion of the drum unit so that the developing roller and the photosensitive drum are in contact with each other.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1. A cartridge mountable to a main assembly of an image forming apparatus, the cartridge comprising:
a drum unit detachably mountable to the main assembly, the drum unit including a photosensitive drum and a first frame supporting the photosensitive drum so that the photosensitive drum is rotatable about a rotational axis extending in a first direction and on which a mounting portion is provided; and
a developing unit detachably mounted on the mounting portion of the first frame, the developing unit including a developing roller configured to supply developer to the photosensitive drum and a second frame including an accommodating portion configured to accommodate the developer to be borne on the developing roller, and a handle portion,
wherein the first frame of the drum unit includes a discriminating portion and the second frame of the developing unit includes a portion-to-be-discriminated, with the discriminating portion and the portion-to-be-discriminated engaging each other, and
wherein, when the cartridge is oriented in a direction in which the cartridge is mounted on the main assembly, the portion-to-be-discriminated is provided (i) on a bottom side of the second frame, (ii) closer to a center of the accommodating portion in the first direction than an outermost end of the accommodating portion is to the center of the accommodating portion in the first direction, and (iii) closer to the developing roller in a second direction intersecting with the first direction than the handle portion is to the developing roller in the second direction.
2. The cartridge according to claim 1 , wherein the portion-to-be-discriminated is provided between the developing roller and the handle portion in the second direction.
3. The cartridge according to claim 1 , wherein the first frame includes (i) a first wall which is provided on a first end of the first frame in the first direction and which extends in the second direction and (ii) a second wall which is provided on a second end of the first frame opposite to the first end in the first direction and which extends in the second direction, and
wherein the portion-to-be-discriminated is provided closer to the first wall in the first direction than to the second wall in the first direction.
4. The cartridge according to claim 1 , wherein, in a case where the handle portion is a second handle portion, the first frame includes a first handle portion that is provided on a center portion of the first frame in the first direction, a first wall which is provided on a first end of the first frame in the first direction and which extends in the second direction, and a second wall which is provided on a second end of the first frame opposite to the first end in the first direction and which extends in the second direction, and
wherein the discriminating portion is provided at only a region between the first handle portion and the first wall in the first direction.
5. The cartridge according to claim 1 , wherein the developing unit includes an agitator configured to agitate the developer in the accommodating portion, with the agitator including a shaft extending in the first direction and a sheet attached to the shaft and rotatable together with the shaft, and
wherein, when viewed in a direction orthogonal to the rotational axis, the portion-to-be-discriminated overlaps with the sheet.
6. The cartridge according to claim 1 , wherein the portion-to-be-discriminated is a recess portion formed in the second frame, and the discriminating portion is a protrusion formed on the first frame.Cited by (0)
