Abstract
Infant formula compositions and methods for delivering at least one compound selected from nicotinamide riboside (NR), nicotinic acid riboside (NAR), and nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN), derivatives thereof, or salts thereof, in combination with at least one of thiamine (vitamin B1), riboflavin (vitamin B2), niacin (vitamin B3), and pyridoxine (vitamin B6), to an infant human subject in need of said compound or compounds are provided.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWe claim:
1. An infant formula composition comprising at least one nicotinyl riboside compound, or salt thereof, wherein said nicotinyl riboside compound comprises nicotinamide riboside (NR, I), and optionally at least one nicotinyl riboside compound selected from the group consisting of nicotinic acid riboside (NAR, II), reduced nicotinamide riboside (NRH, IV), reduced nicotinic acid riboside (NARH, V), nicotinamide riboside triacetate (NRTA, VI), nicotinic acid riboside triacetate (NARTA, VII), reduced nicotinamide riboside triacetate (NRH-TA, VIII), and reduced nicotinic acid riboside triacetate (NARH-TA, IX); together with an acceptable excipient, diluent, or carrier, wherein the total amount of nicotinyl riboside compound or salt thereof in the infant formula composition is about 1,500 ug to about 10,000 ug per 100 kilocalories of the infant formula composition.
2. The infant formula composition of claim 1 , further comprising at least one protein selected from the group consisting of whey and casein.
3. The infant formula composition of claim 2 , further comprising about 1.8 g-4.5 g protein per 100 kilocalories infant formula composition.
4. The infant formula composition of claim 1 , further comprising at least one vitamin selected from the group consisting of vitamin B1 (thiamine, XI), vitamin B2 (riboflavin, XII), and vitamin B6 (pyridoxine, XIII).
5. The infant formula composition of claim 4 , further comprising, for every 300 ug nicotinamide riboside (NR, I) compound in the infant formula composition, about 40 ug vitamin B1, about 60 ug vitamin B2, and about 35 ug vitamin B6.
6. The infant formula composition of claim 1 , further comprising calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, manganese, copper, sodium, potassium, chloride, iron, selenium, chromium, molybdenum, iodine, taurine, carnitine, or choline.
7. The infant formula composition of claim 1 , further comprising at least one protein selected from the group consisting of whey and casein; at least one vitamin selected from the group consisting of vitamin B1 (thiamine, XI), vitamin B2 (riboflavin, XII), and vitamin B6 (pyridoxine, XIII); and at least one of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, manganese, copper, sodium, potassium, chloride, iron, selenium, chromium, molybdenum, iodine, taurine, carnitine, or choline.
8. The infant formula composition of claim 1 , further comprising an excipient, a binder, a disintegrating agent, a lubricant, a sweetening agent, a flavoring agent, or a coating.
9. The infant formula composition of claim 1 , wherein said composition is in powder or in liquid form.
10. An infant formula composition comprising at least one nicotinyl riboside compound, or salt thereof, wherein the nicotinyl riboside comprises nicotinamide riboside (NR, I), and optionally at least one nicotinyl riboside compound selected from the group consisting of nicotinic acid riboside (NAR, II), reduced nicotinamide riboside (NRH, IV), reduced nicotinic acid riboside (NARH, V), nicotinamide riboside triacetate (NRTA, VI), nicotinic acid riboside triacetate (NARTA, VII), reduced nicotinamide riboside triacetate (NRH-TA, VIII), and reduced nicotinic acid riboside triacetate (NARH-TA, IX); together with an acceptable excipient, diluent, or carrier, wherein when said at least one nicotinyl riboside compound is a salt, a counterion is selected from the group consisting of calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, zinc, N,N-dibenzylethylenediamine, chloroprocaine, choline, diethanolamine, ethylenediamine, meglumine (N-methylglucamine), tromethamine (tris (hydroxymethyl) aminomethane), procaine, fluoride, chloride, bromide, iodide, formate, acetate, ascorbate, benzoate, carbonate, citrate, carbamate, formate, gluconate, lactate, glycolate, malate, tartrate, glucuronate, maleate, fumarate, pyruvate, methane sulfonate, benzene sulfonate, p-toluenesulfonate, salicylate, galactarate, galacturonate, methyl bromide, methyl sulfate, nitrate, phosphate, diphosphate, succinate, sulfate, trifluoromethanesulfonate, trifluoroacetate, propionate, butyrate, glutamate, aspartate, tribromomethanesulfonate, trichloromethanesulfonate, and hydrogen carbonate,
wherein the amount of nicotinyl riboside compound or salt thereof in the infant formula composition is about 1,500 ug to about 10,000 ug per 100 kilocalories of the infant formula composition.
11. The infant formula composition of claim 10 , wherein said nicotinyl riboside compound or salt thereof is a salt of acetic acid or a salt of propionic acid.
12. The infant formula composition of claim 10 , further comprising, for every 300 ug nicotinamide riboside (NR, I) compound in the infant formula composition, about 40 ug vitamin B1, about 60 ug vitamin B2, and about 35 ug vitamin B6.
13. The infant formula composition of claim 10 , wherein said composition is in powder or in liquid form.Cited by (0)
