Abstract
A server information handling system is secured by a bezel that couples to an access location, such as an air vent at a front or rear face of a housing. The bezel includes a security structure having a lock and configured to couple directly at the front face or with a bezel extension at the rear face so that the server information handling system can use the same bezel with both a front face or rear face rack mount. The bezel has a lock integrated with the security structure, an air filter that fits over the security structure to filter air flowing into the housing, and a filter brace that captures the air filter by coupling to the security structure over the air filter.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method for securing a server information handling system the method comprising:
when coupling a housing of the server information handling system in a rack to have a front face exposed as an access location and a rear face protected from access by the rack: coupling a bezel security structure directly to the server information handling system housing at the access location, the access location having an airflow vent; locking the bezel security structure to restrict access at the access location; disposing an air filter at an exterior side of the bezel security structure; and coupling a filter brace to the bezel security structure to capture the air filter, the filter and filter brace removable when the bezel security structure is locked; and when coupling the housing of the server information handling system in the rack to have a rear face exposed as the access location and the front face protected from access by the rack: coupling a bezel extension to the server information handling system housing at the access location with a coupling device, the bezel extension defining a cavity with an opening at a front side, the coupling device accessible only from the interior of cavity accessed through the opening at the front side; coupling the bezel security structure directly to the bezel extension to cover the opening at the front side so that the coupling device is inaccessible; locking the bezel security structure to restrict access to the bezel extension cavity interior; disposing the air filter at the exterior side of the bezel security structure; and coupling the filter brace to the bezel security structure to capture the air filter, the air filter and filter brace removable when the bezel security structure is locked.
2 . The method of claim 1 further comprising:
locking the bezel security structure with a lock exposed at the exterior side; and
forming an opening in the filter brace and filter to fit around the lock.
3 . The method of claim 1 further comprising:
unlocking the bezel security structure; and
removing the bezel security structure, filter and filter brace from the access location as an assembled bezel.
4 . The method of claim 3 further comprising:
removing the filter brace from the security structure with the security structure locked;
replacing the air filter with a replacement air filter; and
coupling the filter brace to the security structure to capture the replacement air filter without unlocking the security structure.
5 . The method of claim 4 further comprising:
forming a geometric pattern in the bezel security structure; and
forming the geometric pattern in the filter brace to align with the geometric pattern of the security structure.
6 . The method of claim 4 further comprising:
forming a geometric pattern in the bezel security structure; and
forming the geometric pattern in the filter to align with the geometric pattern of the security structure.Cited by (0)
