Abstract

A connecting piece is provided to be fitted where fascia boards are intended to meet, especially at corners of conservatory roofs. The connecting piece has a front face and a rear face, edges of the rear face being shaped to correspond to the outer profile of the fascia boards and means for retaining the connecting piece between adjacent ends of the fascia boards.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
. A connecting piece to be fitted where fascia boards are intended to meet, especially at corners of conservatory roofs, the connecting piece having a front face and a rear face, edges of the rear face being shaped to correspond to the outer profile of the fascia boards and means for retaining the connecting piece between adjacent ends of the fascia boards.

. A connecting piece as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the means for retaining the connecting piece comprises an extension from the rear face of the connecting piece having at its remote end a pair of wings, providing slots between each wing and the rear face of the connecting piece for receiving a fascia board end.

. A connecting piece as claimed in claim 1 , wherein one or more tabs or the like are provided on top edges of the connecting piece to sit on top edges of the fascia boards to aid positioning and retention of the connecting piece.

. A connecting piece as claimed in claim 1 having an aperture for receiving a selectable decorative insert and a decorative insert received therein.

. A connecting piece as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the retaining means is connected to the edge of the aperture.

. A connecting piece as claimed in claim 5 , wherein the retaining means is connected to the edge of the aperture at substantially diametrically opposed points.

. A connecting piece as claimed in claim 1 molded in one piece.

. A connecting piece as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the decorative inserts have resilient tabs on their rear face that locate behind edges of the aperture.

. A connecting piece as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the decorative inserts have resilient tabs on their rear face that locate in slots provided in the connections between the retaining extension and the edges of the aperture.

. A connecting piece as claimed in claim 1 providing a corner angle selected from angles of 150°, 135° and 90°, each for internal and external corners.

. A connecting piece as claimed in claim 1 providing for a connection between fascias at 180°.

. A cladding system, suitable for conservatory roof systems, especially at the eaves thereof, comprising a pair of fascia boards and a connecting piece having a front face and a rear face, edges of the rear face being shaped to correspond to the outer profile of the fascia boards and means for retaining the connecting piece between adjacent ends of the fascia boards.

. A cladding system as claimed in claim 12 , wherein the means for retaining the connecting piece comprises an extension from the rear face of the connecting piece having at its remote end a pair of wings, providing slots between each wing and the rear face of the connecting piece for receiving a fascia board end.

. A cladding system as claimed in claim 12 , wherein one or more tabs or the like are provided on top edges of the connecting piece to sit on top edges of the fascia boards to aid positioning and retention of the connecting piece.

. A cladding system as claimed in claim 12 , wherein the connecting piece has an aperture for receiving a selectable decorative insert and a decorative insert received therein.

. A cladding system as claimed in claim 15 , wherein the retaining means of the connecting piece is connected to the edge of the aperture.

. A cladding system as claimed in claim 16 , wherein the retaining means is connected to the edge of the aperture at substantially diametrically opposed points.

. A cladding system as claimed in claim 12 , wherein the connecting piece is molded in one piece.

. A cladding system as claimed in claim 15 , wherein the decorative inserts have resilient tabs on their rear face that locate behind edges of the aperture of the connecting piece.

. A cladding system as claimed in claim 15 , wherein the decorative inserts have resilient tabs on their rear face that locate in slots provided in the connections between the retaining extensions and their connections to the edges of the aperture of the connecting piece.

. A cladding system as claimed in claim 12 , wherein the connecting piece provides a corner angle selected from angles of 150°, 135° and 90°, each for internal and external corners.

. A cladding system as claimed in claim 12 , wherein the connecting piece provides for a connection between fascias at 180°.
