Golf club head
Abstract
A golf club head includes a head body with a tapered weighting member formed inside the head. The tapered weighting member has a top portion and a bottom portion having a thickness larger than that of the top portion to provide a low center of gravity in order to maintain stability of the head during a swing. The weighting member is made of metal which has rigidity lower than that of the material made of the head, and the weighting member is evenly formed behind a striking face of the head. By such an arrangement, the head is able to provide a shock absorbability thoughout the entire striking faces.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A golf club head having a head body with a striking face and a neck securely formed on the head body and extending upward from the head body, wherein the improvements comprise:
a weighting member added inside the head body and having a tapered configuration to lower a center of gravity of the golf club head in order to maintain stability during a swing.
2 . The golf club head as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the weighting member is integrally formed inside the head body and the weighting member has a top portion with a thickness thinner than a thickness of a bottom portion of the weighting member.
3 . The golf club head as claimed in claim 2 , wherein the weighting member is made of a material having a rigidity lower than a rigidity of a material from which the head body is made.
4 . The golf club head as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the weighting member is made of a material having a density higher than a density of the material of the head body.
5 . The golf club head as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the head body has a front part and a rear part securely formed together.
6 . The golf club head as claimed in claim 5 , wherein a slot is defined in a bottom surface of the rear part, such that the weighting member is able to be inserted into the head body through the slot.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
