Abstract
A method of treating a patient suffering from a disease, disorder or condition includes the administration to the patient of a therapeutically effective amount of botulinum toxin of a selected serotype until the patient experiences loss of clinical response to the administered botulinum toxin and thereafter administering to the patient a therapeutically effective amount of another botulinum toxin of a different serotype.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method of treating a patient suffering from a neuromuscular disorder or condition, said method comprising administering to the patient a therapeutically effective amount of botulinum toxin of a selected serotype until the patient experiences loss of clinical response to the administered botulinum toxin and thereafter administering to the patient another botulinum toxin of a different serotype, said another botulinum toxin being administered in therapeutically effective amounts.
2 . The method according to claim 1 wherein the botulinum toxin is type A and said another botulinum toxin is selected from the group consisting of types B, C, D and F.
3 . The method according to claim 1 wherein the botulinum toxin is type E and said another botulinum toxin is selected from the group consisting of types A, B, C, D and F.
4 . A method of treating a patient suffering from a neuromuscular disorder or condition, said method comprising administration to the patient of a therapeutically effective amount of botulinum toxin of a selected serotype until the patient develops neutralizing antibodies and thereafter administering to the patient another botulinum toxin of a different serotype, said another botulinum toxin being administered in a therapeutically effective amount.
5 . The method according to claim 4 wherein the botulinum toxin is type A and said another botulinum toxin is selected from the group consisting of types B, C, D, E and F.
6 . The method according to claim 4 wherein the botulinum toxin is type B and said another botulinum toxin is selected from the group consisting of types A, C, D, E and F.
7 . A method of treating a patient suffering from a neuromuscular disorder or condition, said method comprising administering to the patient a therapeutically effective amount of botulinum toxin serotype A until the patient develops neutralizing antibodies and thereafter administering to the patient a therapeutically effective amount of a different serotype of botulinum toxin.
8 . The method according to claim 7 wherein the different serotype comprise botulinum toxin types B, C, D, E and F.
9 . A method of treating a patient suffering from a neuromuscular disorder or condition, said method comprising administering to the patient a therapeutically effective amount of botulinum toxin type B until the patient develops neutralizing antibodies and thereafter administering to the patient a therapeutically effective amount of a serotype different from botulinum toxin type B.
10 . The method according to claim 9 wherein the different serotype comprise botulinum toxin types A, C, D, E and F.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
