Abstract

The present invention relates to a mujlti-compartment pack for colling or heating products. The pack includes a first compartment with a solid matter or a liquid and a second compartment with a liquid wherein the first and second compartment are separated by a removable wall.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A multi-compartment pack for cooling or heating of products, comprising:
 a first compartment; a solid matter or a liquid positioned within the first compartment; and an adjacent second compartment separated from the first compartment by a removable wall wherein a liquid is positioned within the second compartment, and upon eliminating the temporary separation of the compartments and following the contact of the substances contained therein with each other, the substances in both compartments cause an endothermal or exothermal reaction, the multi-compartment pack, comprising:
 at least wall ( 17 ) of the first compartment ( 1 ) and a wall ( 18 ) of the second compartment ( 2 ) form at the same time a whole contact area ( 5 ) with a third compartment ( 3 ) which contains a product to cool or to heat;
 the first compartment ( 1 ) and the second compartment ( 2 ) are in contact with the third chamber ( 3 ) solely via the whole contact area ( 5 );
 the liquid present in both compartments ( 1 ; 2 ) after interrupting the separation at ( 13   a ) between the first compartment ( 1 ) and the second compartment ( 2 ) makes possible an interchange of heat by transfer via the whole contact area ( 5 ) to the third compartment ( 3 );
 and a third chamber is provided with an opening easily to be opened from the outside, from which the heated or cooled product can be taken out.

         2 . A multi-compartment pack according to claim 1 , wherein the whole contact area ( 5 ) is made of a heat conductive material inert towards the reaction partners.

         3 . A multi-compartment pack according to claim 1 , wherein the first compartment ( 1 ) contains a dry substance being selected among calcium oxide, calcium chloride, zeolite BEA, zeolite faujasite X, zeolite faujasite Y, zeolite ZSM-5, and mixtures thereof.

         4 . A multi-compartment pack according to claim 1 , wherein the first compartment ( 1 ) contains a dry substance being selected among ammonium nitrate, urea, potassium chloride, zinc chloride, and mixtures thereof.

         5 . A multi-compartment pack according to  claim 1 , wherein the second compartment ( 2 ) contains a liquid, in particular deionized water.

         6 . A multi-compartment pack according to  claim 1 , wherein the wall ( 17 ) of the first compartment ( 1 ) and the wall ( 18 ) of the second compartment ( 2 ) are at the same time at least a part of the wall ( 19 ) of the third compartment ( 3 ).

         7 . A multi-compartment pack according to claim 1 , wherein the non-contact areas of all compartments are made of a heat-insulating material.

         8 . A multi-compartment pack according to claim 1 , wherein all compartments are formed flatly, having a ratio between the respective side wall height (h) of a compartment to its length (a) or width (b) each ranging between 1:20-300 while the contact area of the third compartment with the first compartment or the first and the second compartments represents the respectively largest basic area of a compartment.

         9 . A multi-compartment pack according to  claim 1 , wherein a first compartment ( 1 ;  1 ′) and a second compartment ( 2 ;  2 ′), respectively, are arranged on each of the wall ( 19 ) and the top area ( 9 ) of the third compartment ( 3 ) so that the wall ( 19 ) and the top area ( 9 ) of the third compartment ( 3 ) form at the same time contact areas with the two first compartments ( 1 ; 1 ′) and the two second compartments ( 2 ; 2 ′).

         10 . A multi-compartment pack according to  claim 1 , wherein the wall ( 19 ) of a third compartment ( 3 ) is arranged on the walls ( 17 ;  18 ) of the first and the second compartments ( 1 ;  2 ) while an additional third compartment ( 3 ′) is arranged on the top areas ( 11 ;  12 ) and of the first and the second compartments ( 1 ;  2 ) so that the walls ( 17 ;  18 ) and the top areas ( 11 ;  12 ) of the first and the second compartments ( 1 ; 2 ) form at the same time contact areas with the two third compartments ( 3 ;  3 ′).

         11 . A multi-compartment pack according to any of claims 1 to 10 , wherein all walls of the first compartment and the second compartment are flexible.

         12 . A multi-compartment pack according to any of claims 1 to 11 , wherein the product to cool or to heat is a liquid, cream, gel or pasty cosmetic or pharmaceutical.

         13 . A multi-compartment pack according to claim 1 , wherein the ratio by weight between the reactants of the first compartment to the reactants of the second compartment is in the range of 1:0.8-1.3.
