Abstract
Reduced-noise devices or their components, in particular engine or combustion units and their components or fluid-carrying systems and their components, which are constructed, partially or wholly, from thermoplastics and which, at a distance from the surfaces of the devices, have at least one perforated plate, which is firmly connected, rests essentially with a form fit on continuously circumferential attachments on the thermoplastic component and encase the devices, in part or completely.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWe claim:
1 . A reduced-noise device or its components which are constructed, partially or wholly, from thermoplastics, wherein at a distance from the surfaces of the device they have at least one perforated plate, which is firmly connected, rests essentially with a form fit on continuously circumferential attachments on the thermoplastic component and encases the device, in part or completely.
2 . A reduced-noise device or its components as claimed in claim 1 , wherein these constitute engine or combustion units and their components which are constructed, partially or wholly, from thermoplastics and, at a distance from the surfaces of the engine or combustion units or components, have at least one perforated plate, which is firmly connected, rests essentially with a form fit on continuously circumferential attachments on the thermoplastic component and encases the engine or combustion unit, in part or completely.
3 . A reduced-noise device or its components as claimed in claim 1 , wherein these constitute an intake pipe, an intake module, an alternator casing, a casing for gearboxes, injection pumps or marine propulsion units, or domestic appliances, electrical appliances, tools or burners.
4 . A reduced-noise device or its components as claimed in claim 1 , wherein these constitute fluid-carrying systems and their components, which are constructed, partially or wholly, from thermoplastics and, at a distance from the surface of the fluid-carrying system, have at least one perforated plate, which is firmly connected, rests essentially with a form fit on continuously circumferential attachments of the thermoplastic component and encases the fluid-carrying systems, in part or completely.
5 . A reduced-noise device or its components as claimed in claim 1 , wherein, underneath and/or beside the encasing provided by the perforated plate, one or more webs are fitted to the surface of the device or the component and are connected to the latter with a form fit.
6 . A reduced-noise device or its components as claimed in claim 5 , wherein a number of webs run parallel or virtually parallel or form a rib structure.
7 . A reduced-noise device or its components as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the thermoplastics used are polyesters, polyamides, polyether sulfones, polysulfones, polyoxymethylenes, polyether imides, polyether ketones, polyketones, polyphenylene sulfides, polyphenylene ethers, polyphenylene ether/HIPS blends, syndiotactic polystyrene, styrene (co)polymers, polymethyl methacrylates, MABS polymers, polycarbonates or mixtures thereof.
8 . A reduced-noise device or its components as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the holes in the perforated plate are circular, oval, square, rectangular or trapezoidal.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
