Abstract

The invention relates to a combustible shaped ammunition part, such as a propellant case or a propellant charge container, wherein the combustible shaped ammunition part contains an erosion-reducing admixture. To ensure that the erosion-reducing admixture leads to a higher reduction in the erosion effect of the propellant powder in the shaped ammunition part as compared to known admixtures, the invention comprises using an oxide of one of the elements of rare earth, in particular La 2 O 3 , CeO 2 , Y 2 O 3 and/or one of the elements of the 6 th subgroup in the periodic system, especially MoO 3 or WO 3 and/or poly oxy methylene (POM).

What is claimed is:  
     
         1 . A combustible shaped ammunition part wherein the combustible shaped ammunition part contains an erosion-reducing admixture, comprising an erosion-reducing agent which is an oxide of one of the elements of rare earth or one of the elements of the 6 th  subgroup in the periodic system, or a poly oxy methylene (POM).  
     
     
         2 . A combustible shaped ammunition part according to  claim 1 , wherein the erosion-reducing agent is La 2 O 3 , CeO 2 , or Y 2 O 3 .  
     
     
         3 . A combustible shaped ammunition part according to  claim 1 , wherein the erosion-reducing agent is MoO 3  or WO 3 .  
     
     
         4 . A combustible shaped ammunition part according to  claim 1 , wherein the shaped ammunition part contains 2 to 15% of one or more erosion-reducing agent(s).  
     
     
         5 . A combustible shaped ammunition part according to  claim 2 , wherein the shaped ammunition part contains 2 to 15% of one or more erosion-reducing gent(s).  
     
     
         6 . A combustible shaped ammunition part according to  claim 3 , wherein the shaped ammunition part contains 2 to 15% of one or more erosion-reducing agent(s).  
     
     
         7 . A combustible shaped ammunition part according to  claim 1 , in the form of a propellant case or a propellant charge container.  
     
     
         8 . A combustible shaped ammunition part according to  claim 2 , in the form of a propellant case or a propellant charge container.  
     
     
         9 . A combustible shaped ammunition part according to  claim 3 , in the form of a propellant case or a propellant charge container.
