Abstract
The intrusion of insects into a home or similar building is controlled by utilizing insect controlling plastic materials in the construction of the building. The insect controlling plastic building materials are manufactured by first blending one or more plastic resins with one or more insect controlling chemical agents to form a blended plastic resin/insect controlling chemical agent material. The blended plastic resin/insect controlling chemical agent material is then utilized to manufacture plastic films, sheets, non-woven fabrics, woven fabrics, insulating foams, flooring materials, wall covering materials, and the like utilizing conventional manufacturing techniques.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method of protecting buildings from intrusion by insects comprising the steps of:
blending at least one plastic resin with at least one insect controlling chemical agent; utilizing the blended the plastic resin/insect controlling chemical agent material to manufacture an insect controlling plastic building material; and utilizing the insect controlling plastic building material in the construction of a home or similar building.
2 . The method of protecting building from intrusion by insects according to claim 1 wherein the blended plastic resin/insect controlling chemical agent material is utilized in the manufacture of an insect controlling plastic film, and wherein the insect controlling plastic film is installed as a vapor barrier beneath the subfloor of a building.
3 . The method of protecting buildings from intrusion by insects according to claim 1 wherein the blended plastic resin/insect controlling chemical agent material is utilized in the manufacture of an insect controlling plastic film, and wherein the insect controlling plastic film is utilized as a wrap surrounding the walls of the building.
4 . The method of protecting buildings from intrusion by insects according to claim 1 wherein the blended plastic resin/insect controlling chemical agent material is utilized in the manufacture of an insect controlling non-woven fabric, and wherein the insect controlling non-woven plastic fabric is utilized as a wrap around the walls of the building.
5 . The method of protecting buildings from intrusion by insects according to claim 1 wherein the blended plastic resin/insect controlling chemical agent material is utilized in the manufacture of plastic foam insulation, and wherein the insect controlling plastic insulation is utilized between the structural components of the building.
6 . The method of protecting buildings from intrusion by insects according to claim 1 wherein the blended plastic resin/insect controlling chemical agent material is utilized in the manufacture of wall covering, and wherein the insect controlling wall covering is utilized on the interior walls of the building.
7 . The method of protecting buildings from intrusion by insects according to claim 1 wherein the blended plastic resin/insect controlling chemical agent material its utilized in the manufacture of floor covering, and wherein the insect controlling floor covering is utilized on the interior floors of the building.
8 . The method of protecting buildings from intrusion by insects according to claim 1 wherein the blended plastic resin/insect controlling chemical agent material is utilized in the manufacture of plastic film, and wherein the plastic film is deployed as an insect controlling plastic wrap around a batt of insulation.
9 . The method of protecting buildings from intrusion by insects according to claim 1 wherein the blended plastic resin/insect controlling chemical agent material is utilized in the manufacture of woven plastic fabric, and wherein the woven plastic fabric is deployed around the exterior of a building to prevent the entry of insects therein.Cited by (0)
