Abstract
A pivotably mounted arm with a V notch at its extremety is used to hold an arrow on an arrow rest until it is about to be released. The arm is placed on a rod between a fixed end and a collar that can be adjusted to put pressure on the arm in an amount to hold an arrow in place until ready to be discharged. A flexible connected between the arm and the bow string serves to release the holddown arm when the bow string is retracted to shoot the arrow.

A device for holding an arrow on the arrow rest of a bow until it is launched, comprising a hold down arm pivotably mounted on a shaft adjacent the arrow rest capable of pivoting over the arrow when the arrow is resting on the arrow rest, said shaft containing an adjustable collar next to the arm and means for attaching the shaft to the bow.
2 . The device in accordance with claim 1 in which the shaft is positioned in a holder which is capable of attaching to the bow.
3 . The device in accordance with claim 2 in which the holder is attached to a clamp which can be fitted to the cable guard.
