Abstract

A resonant microcavity display having microcavity with a substrate, a phosphor active region and front and rear reflectors. The front and rear reflectors may be spaced to create either a standing or traveling electromagnetic wave to enhance the efficiency of the light transmission.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A method of producing a communication device, which comprises growing a resonant microcavity, including a phosphor active region inside said microcavity.

2 . The method of claim 1 wherein said active region has a width selected to control the chromaticity of the light emitted from the communicating device.

3 . The method of claim 1 wherein said microcavity is designed to control the directionality of the light emitted from the communicating device.

4 . A method of producing a communication device which comprises:
growing a resonant microcavity including a phosphor active region for said microcavity.

5 . The method of claim 4 including:
growing said phosphor active region inside of said microcavity.

6 . The method of claim 4 wherein said microcavity has a first reflector and a second reflector, the method including:
growing said phosphor active region between said first reflector and said second reflector.
