Abstract
In the method for changing a reel in the reel-up of a paper or paperboard machine or finishing apparatus for paper or paperboard, the cutting of a paper or paperboard web (W) and the guiding of the same on a new reel is conducted by using a tape ( 5 ) that is guided into connection with a reeling core ( 3 ). Thereafter the tape, as it is positioned on top of the reeling core, at the same time cuts the web (W) and guides the new end of the web following the cutting point around the reeling core. The tape ( 5 ) is equipped with an adhesive agent which at the moment of reel change or thereafter is brought to a state that activates the adhesive agent. At least some of the adhesion surfaces of the tape ( 5 ) are activated by means of a compression pressure between the reeling core ( 3 ) and the reeling cylinder ( 2 ).

A method for changing a reel in a reel-up of a paper or paperboard machine or finishing apparatus for paper or paperboard, in which method the cutting of a paper or paperboard web (W) and the guiding of the same on a new reel is conducted by using a tape ( 5 ) that is guided into connection with a reeling core ( 3 ), whereafter the tape, as it is positioned on top of the reeling core, at the same time cuts the web (W) and guides the new end of the web following the cutting point around the reeling core, characterized in that the tape ( 5 ) is equipped with an adhesive agent, which at the moment of reel change or after the same is brought into a state that activates the adhesive agent.
2 . The method according to claim 1 , characterized in that at least part of the adhesion surfaces of the tape ( 5 ) is activated by means of a compression pressure between the reeling core ( 3 ) and the reeling cylinder ( 2 ).
3 . The method according to claim 1 , characterized in that at least part of the adhesion surfaces of the tape ( 5 ) is activated by means of radiation exerted on the tape, such as heat radiation or UV radiation.
4 . The method according to claim 1 , characterized in that at least part of the adhesion surfaces of the tape ( 5 ) is activated by means of moisture exerted on the tape.

The method according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that in the method a tape ( 5 ) is used, both sides of which are at least partly treated with an adhesive agent, such as glue or adhesive tape which is activated, i.e. becomes adherent only as a result of an activation process exerted on the tape.
6 . The method according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that in the method a reeling core ( 3 ) is used that contains an inner part ( 3 a ) surrounded by a removable, advantageously disposable outer layer ( 3 b ), such as a cardboard sleeve.
7 . A tape used in the cutting of a paper or paperboard web and in reel change, characterized in that both sides of the tape ( 5 ) are at least partly treated with an adhesive agent that is activated to an adherent state as a result of an activation process exerted on the tape.
8 . The tape according to claim 7 , characterized in that the adhesive agent consists of pressure-sensitive glue or adhesive tape, which is activated when the pressure exerted on the adhesive agent exceeds a threshold pressure of the adhesive agent.
9 . The tape according to claim 8 , characterized in that the threshold pressure of the adhesive agent is advantageously over 1 Mpa.
10 . The tape according to claim 7 , characterized in that the adhesive agent is sensitive to the heat radiation or UV radiation exerted thereon.
11 . The tape according to claim 7 , characterized in that the adhesive agent is sensitive to moisture exerted thereon.
12 . The tape according to any of the claims 7 to 11 , characterized in that the adhesive agent on the surface of the tape has an activation delay that determines the time passed from the activating action exerted on the tape to the activation of the adhesive agent.
