Cell phone glove

Abstract

A glove or mitten for use with a cell phone. A glove or mitten has an inner and an outer surface and is adapted to contain a wearer's hand. An opening along a surface of the thumb portion of the glove or mitten is adapted to provide access of the wearer's thumb from the inner surface through the outer surface of the glove without removing the glove. A means is provided for reversably opening and closing the opening to provide either easy access or a seal of the opening. The closure can be a zipper or hook and pile fastener and additional flaps can be added to minimize heat loss through the opening.

What is claimed is:  
     
         1 . A glove or mitten for use with a cell phone, comprising: 
 a glove or mitten having an inner and an outer surface and adapted to contain a wearer's hand;    an opening along a surface of the thumb portion of the glove or mitten adapted to provide access of the wearer's thumb from the inner surface through the outer surface of the glove without removing the glove; and    a means for reversably opening and closing the opening to provide either easy access or a seal of the opening.    
     
     
         2 . The glove or mitten of  claim 1  wherein the glove or mitten as at least a shell and a lining, the shell fitting around the lining, the lining being closer to the wearer's hand when the glove or mitten is worn on the wearer's hand.  
     
     
         3 . The glove or mitten of  claim 2  wherein the opening exists in both the lining and the shell.  
     
     
         4 . The glove or mitten of  claim 3  wherein the means for reversibly opening and closing the opening is in the shell.  
     
     
         5 . The glove or mitten of  claim 4  wherein the means for reversibly opening and closing is a zipper.  
     
     
         6 . The glove or mitten of  claim 4  wherein the means for reversibly opening and closing is a hook and pile closure.  
     
     
         7 . The glove or mitten of  claim 4  wherein the lining has a slit to allow the wearer's thumb to slide through the lining as it exits the opening in the shell.  
     
     
         8 . The glove or mitten of  claim 7  wherein the lining further includes a flap secured over the slit to provide additional protection to the portion of the wearer's hand not extending out of the slit.  
     
     
         9 . The glove or mitten of  claim 7  wherein the opening in the shell and means for reversibly opening and closing the opening is covered partially by a flap.  
     
     
         10 . The glove or mitten of  claim 7  wherein the opening in the shell and means for reversibly opening and closing the opening is covered by a releasably secured flap.  
     
     
         11 . The glove or mitten of  claim 10  wherein the flap is releasably secured to the thumb of the glove with a hook and pile connector.  
     
     
         12 . The glove or mitten of  claim 1  further including an opening along a surface of at least one finger portion of the glove or mitten adapted to provide access of the wearer's at least one finger from the inner surface through the outer surface of the glove without removing the glove; and 
 a second means for reversably opening and closing the at least one opening in at least one finger to provide either easy access or a seal of the at least one finger opening.
