Abstract

Disclosed is a drum assembly, which provides a big volume as well as reinforces a coupling power to a power transfer element. The present invention includes a drum, a spider, and a driving shaft. The drum includes an opening confronting a door, a rear wall provided opposite to the opening, the rear wall having a circumferential portion protruding more outward than a central portion, and a circumferential wall between the opening and the rear wall. The spider is attached to an outside of the rear wall. And, the driving shaft penetrates into the tub to be connected to the spider.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A drum of a washing machine, comprising:
an opening confronting a door; a rear wall provided opposite to the opening, the rear wall having a circumferential portion protruding more outward than a central portion; and a circumferential wall between the opening and the rear wall.

2 . The drum as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the circumferential portion and the central portion are connected to be slant.

3 . A drum assembly of a washing machine, comprising:
a drum including a rear wall having a circumferential portion protruding more outward than a central portion; a spider attached to an outside of the rear wall; and a driving shaft connected to the spider.

4 . The drum assembly as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the circumferential portion and the central portion are connected to be slant.

5 . The drum assembly as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the rear wall is uniform in thickness.

6 . The drum assembly as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the spider is attached closely to the outside of the rear wall.

7 . The drum assembly as claimed in claim 3 , wherein an edge part of the spider coupled with the circumferential portion of the rear wall is thinner than a central part of the spider connected to the driving shaft.

         8 . A washing machine comprising:
a cabinet; a tub in the cabinet; a drum including a rear wall having a circumferential portion protruding more outward than a central portion; a spider attached to an outside of the rear wall; a driving shaft connected to the spider; and a motor provided in the cabinet to be connected to the driving shaft.

9 . The washing machine as claimed in claim 8 , wherein the circumferential portion and the central portion are connected to be slant.

10 . The washing machine as claimed in claim 8 , wherein the rear wall is uniform in thickness.

11 . The washing machine as claimed in claim 8 , wherein the spider is attached closely to the outside of the rear wall.

12 . The washing machine as claimed in claim 8 , wherein an edge part of the spider coupled with the circumferential portion of the rear wall is thinner than a central part of the spider connected to the driving shaft.

13 . The washing machine as claimed in claim 8 , wherein a circumferential part of a rear side of the tub protrudes more outward than a central part of the rear side of the tub penetrated by the driving shaft.
