Abstract
A network element management system in which network elements can be grouped, and viewed and manipulated by groups. This provides both greater ease of use and faster response.

1 . A computer/software system for managing telecommunication network elements, comprising:
one or more operator-driven processes which monitor and manage network elements; and an operator interface which gives operators the option to view groups of network elements, individual network elements, or subcomponents of network elements; wherein said operator interface also permits operators to optionally command operations on said groups of network elements, or on individual ones of said network elements.
