Repair device for threaded members
Abstract
A repair device includes a base member having a notch-like recess for receiving threaded members, and having an oblong hole formed in one end for slidably receiving a pivot shaft. A pair of arms each includes one end rotatably and slidably secured to the base member by the sliding engagement of the pivot shaft in the oblong hole of the base member, and the other end having a chamfer for engaging with the threaded members. A conduit is rotatably secured to the base member, a rod is threaded with the conduit, and a link is coupled between the arms and the rod, for allowing the arms to slide relative to the base member and the threaded members.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedI claim:
1 . A repair device for threaded members comprising:
a base member including a middle and lower portion having a cavity formed therein, and including a first end having a notch-like recess formed therein for receiving the threaded members, and including a second end having an oblong hole formed therein, a pivot shaft slidably received in said oblong hole of said base member and movable relative to said base member, a pair of arms each including a first end secured to said pivot shaft and thus rotatable and slidable relative to said base member with a sliding engagement of said pivot shaft in said oblong hole of said base member, and said arms each including a second end having a chamfer provided therein for engaging with the threaded members, said arms each including a middle portion, a conduit rotatably secured to said lower portion of said base member, and including a screw hole formed therein, a rod including a threaded portion formed thereon and threaded with said screw hole of said conduit, and including a first end, and a link including a first end pivotally secured to said middle portions of said arms, and a second end pivotally secured to said first end of said rod, to pivotally couple said arms to said rod, and to allow said second ends of said arms to be moved toward and away from said base member by rotating said conduit relative to said rod, said second ends of said arms being movable toward and away from the threaded members that are supported in said notch-like recess of said base member by a sliding engagement of said pivot shaft in said oblong hole of said base member.
2 . The repair device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said second end of said link includes a slot formed therein, said first end of said rod includes a fin rotatably received in said slot of said link.
3 . The repair device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said base member includes a lateral orifice formed therein and communicating with said cavity thereof, and includes a lock pin engaged through said lateral orifice of said base member and engaged into said cavity of said base member, said conduit includes a first end rotatably received in said cavity of said base member and having an outer peripheral depression formed therein for receiving said lock pin which rotatably secures said conduit to said base member.
4 . The repair device as claimed in claim 1 further comprising a handle secured to said conduit, to rotate said conduit relative to said base member.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
