Adhesive composition for textile/rubber adhesive bonding, and tire comprising a textile/rubber composite
Abstract
The present invention concerns an adhesive composition that can be used to bond textile fibers adhesively to a cross-linkable rubber composition, textile fibers sized by means of the said adhesive composition, a composite comprising the textile fibers and a cross-linked rubber composition that is permeable to light, and a tire body whose sidewalls comprise the composite. An adhesive composition according to the invention comprises an aqueous thermosetting phenolic adhesive containing at least one diene elastomer and at least one organic pigment. This adhesive composition is the reaction product the aqueous thermosetting phenolic adhesive and an aqueous pigmentary dispersion containing the organic pigment.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedI claim:
1 . An adhesive composition for bonding textile fibers adhesively to a cross-linkable rubber composition comprising, an aqueous thermosetting phenolic adhesive containing at least one diene elastomer and an organic pigment, wherein the adhesive composition is a reaction product of the aqueous thermosetting phenolic adhesive and an aqueous pigmentary dispersion comprising the organic pigment.
2 . The adhesive composition according to claim 1 , wherein the mass fraction of the pigment in the adhesive composition is less than or equal to 1%.
3 . The adhesive composition according to claim 1 wherein the pigment is selected from the group consisting of phthalocyanines and diarylides.
4 . The adhesive composition according to claim 1 , wherein the composition does not contain an ethylene-urea compound.
5 . A process for preparing an adhesive composition for bonding textile fibers adhesively to a cross-linkable rubber composition, wherein the adhesive composition comprises an aqueous thermosetting phenolic adhesive containing at east one diene elastomer and an organic pigment, the method comprising mixing the aqueous thermosetting phenolic adhesive with an aqueous pigmentary dispersion containing the organic pigment.
6 . The method according to claim 5 , wherein the aqueous pigmentary dispersion contains the organic pigment in a mass fraction less than or equal to 10%.
7 . Sized textile fibers, coated with an adhesive composition comprising an aqueous thermosetting phenolic adhesive containing at least one diene elastomer and an organic pigment, wherein the adhesive composition is a reaction product of the aqueous thermosetting phenolic adhesive and an aqueous pigmentary dispersion comprising the organic pigment.
8 . A composite comprising a cross-linked visible light permeable rubber composition bonded to textile fibers, wherein the composite comprises an adhesive composition between the rubber composition and the textile fibers, the adhesive composition comprising an aqueous thermosetting phenolic adhesive containing at least one diene rubber composition and an organic pigment, the adhesive composition being a reaction product of the aqueous thermosetting phenolic adhesive and an aqueous pigmentary dispersion comprising the organic pigment.
9 . Composite according to claim 8 , wherein the rubber composition comprises a blend of natural rubber and at least one other diene elastomer, the natural rubber being the major proportion of elastomers in the blend.
10 . Tire body having sidewalls comprising the composite according to claim 8 .
11 . Tire body having sidewalls comprising the composite according to claim 9 .
