Method of and system for evaluating underwriting activities

Abstract

A method of evaluating underwriting activities of a company providing insurance coverage is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of storing data related to the underwriting activities for the company; receiving information from employees related to tasks associated with the underwriting activities; analyzing the information from the employees; and generating a report based upon the information from employees. A system for evaluating underwriting activities for a company is also disclosed. The system comprising a user computer storing a program containing questions related to tasks for underwriting activities; a server coupled to the user computer to receive information entered by a plurality of users related to tasks for underwriting activities; and a report generated by the server and providing and providing analyzed information related to responses of the plurality of users.

1 . A method of evaluating underwriting activities of a company providing insurance coverage, said method comprising the steps of: 
 storing data related to said underwriting activities for said company;    receiving information from employees related to tasks associated with said underwriting activities;    analyzing said information from said employees; and    generating a report based upon said information from employees.    
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said step of storing data related to said underwriting activities for said company comprises a step of storing information related to lines of businesses for said company.  
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2  wherein said step of storing data related to said underwriting activities for said company comprises a step of storing information related to transaction types for said company.  
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 2  wherein said step of storing data related to said underwriting activities for said company comprises a step of storing information related to new business, renewals and endorsements.  
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said step of receiving information from employees comprises a step of receiving information indicating whether a task related to an underwriting activity was performed.  
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said step of receiving information from employees comprises a step of receiving a volume category related to a performed task.  
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 6  further comprising a step of receiving a numeric ranking related to a performed task.  
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said step of analyzing information comprises a step of analyzing information based upon office locations.  
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said step of analyzing information comprises a step of analyzing information based upon a plurality of tasks.  
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said step of analyzing information comprises a step of analyzing information based upon a plurality of transaction types.  
     
     
         11 . A method of evaluating underwriting activities of a company providing insurance coverage, said method comprising the steps of: 
 storing data related to lines of business for underwriting activities for said company;    providing a plurality of transaction types for said lines of business;    receiving information from employees related to tasks associated with said transaction types for underwriting activities;    analyzing said information from said employees; and    generating a report based upon said information.    
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 11  wherein said step of storing data related to said underwriting activities for said company comprises a step of storing data related to lines of businesses for said company.  
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 11  wherein said step of storing data related to said underwriting activities for said company comprises a step of storing data related to transaction types.  
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 11  wherein said step of storing data related to said underwriting activities for said company comprises a step of storing data related to new business, renewals and endorsements.  
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 11  wherein said step of receiving information from employees comprises a step of receiving information indicating whether a task was performed.  
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 15  further comprising a step of receiving a volume category related to a performed task.  
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 16  further comprising a step of receiving a numeric ranking related to a performed task.  
     
     
         18 . A method of evaluating underwriting activities of a company providing insurance coverage, said method comprising the steps of: 
 providing information to said underwriting activities for said company from a plurality of employees;    receiving information from said plurality of employees related to tasks associated with transaction types of said underwriting activities; and    compiling said information received from said plurality of employees.    
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 18  wherein said step of receiving information from employees comprises a step of receiving information indicating whether a task was performed.  
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 18  wherein said step of receiving information from employees comprises a step of receiving a volume category related to a performed task.  
     
     
         21 . The method of  claim 20  further comprising a step of receiving a numeric ranking related to a performed task.  
     
     
         22 . The method of  claim 18  further comprising a step of analyzing said information received from said plurality of employees.  
     
     
         23 . The method of  claim 18  further comprising a step of generating a report based upon information received from said plurality of employees.  
     
     
         24 . A method of evaluating underwriting activities of a company providing insurance coverage, said method comprising the steps of: 
 storing data related to said company;    entering information for an employee related to a service of an insurance company; and    populating a survey accessible by said employee with tasks related to said service provided by said employee.    
     
     
         25 . The method of  claim 24  further comprising a step of generating a list of tasks related to each service provided by said insurance company.  
     
     
         26 . The method of  claim 24  further comprising a step of receiving responses from a plurality of employees related to said services provided by said insurance company.  
     
     
         27 . The method of  claim 26  further comprising a step of analyzing said response from said employees.  
     
     
         28 . The method of  claim 27  further comprising a step of generating a report based upon said responses from said employees.  
     
     
         29 . A method of evaluating underwriting activities for a company providing insurance coverage, said method comprising the steps of; 
 storing data related to said underwriting activities for said company;    providing a plurality of questions associated with transaction types for said underwriting activities;    receiving information from employees related to tasks associated with said underwriting activities;    analyzing said information from said employees; and    generating a report based upon said information from employees.    
     
     
         30 . A system for evaluating underwriting activities for a company, said system comprising: 
 a user computer storing a program containing questions related to tasks for underwriting activities;    a server coupled to said user computer to receive information entered by a plurality of users related to tasks for underwriting activities; and    a report generated by said server and providing compiled information related to responses of said plurality of users.    
     
     
         31 . The system of  claim 30  wherein said user computer provides a user interface enabling a user to respond to said questions.  
     
     
         32 . The system of  claim 30  further comprising a communication interface enabling communications between said user computer and said server.  
     
     
         33 . The system of  claim 30  further comprising a memory for storing said program.  
     
     
         34 . The system of  claim 30  further comprising an input/output port associated with said server for outputting said report.  
     
     
         35 . A system for evaluating underwriting activities for a company providing insurance coverage, said system comprising: 
 a user computer storing a program containing tasks associated with services of said company;    a server coupled to said user computer to receive information entered by a plurality of users related to said service for underwriting activities; and    a report generated by said server and providing compiled information related to responses of said plurality of users.    
     
     
         36 . The system of  claim 35  wherein said user computer provides a user interface enabling a user to respond to said questions.  
     
     
         37 . The system of  claim 35  further comprising a communication interface enabling communications between said user computer and said server.  
     
     
         38 . The system of  claim 35  further comprising a memory for storing said program.  
     
     
         39 . A system for evaluating underwriting activities for a company, said system comprising: 
 a computer-readable data storage medium;    means recorded on said computer readable storage medium storing information related to said underwriting activities; and    means recorded on said computer readable storage medium for evaluating underwriting activities for a company;
