Abstract

There is provided a footrest construction capable Of surely holding a footrest in a storage state without impairing the pulling-out operability. In this footrest construction, a first bar 14 of the footrest is held by a first holding pipe 22 , and a second bar 15 of the footrest is held by a second holding pipe 24 . In a first box 21 is provided a lock mechanism 31 for blocking movement of the first bar 14 in the pullout direction from the first holding pipe 22 in a storage state K. An engagement groove 41 is formed in the side face of the first bar 14 , and a notch 42 is provided in a portion of the first holding pipe 22 that agrees with the engagement groove 41 . A lever component 45 is supported on a rotating shaft 44 of a support bracket 43 , and the lever component 45 is provided with a locking claw 52 that engages with the engagement groove 41 . A knob 74 is provided on a tongue 71 of the lever component 45 to form a release lever 75.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A footrest construction in which a support bar of a footrest is supported so as to be capable of being freely pulled out of a support portion,
wherein a lock mechanism is provided in which when a storage state is formed by moving said footrest toward said support portion, movement of said support bar in a pullout direction from said support portion is blocked.

2 . The footrest construction according to claim 1 ,
wherein an engagement groove is provided in a side face of said support bar, and said lock mechanism is formed by providing a locking claw which is urged toward the side face of said support bar and engages with said engagement groove in said support bar in said storage state and a release lever for releasing an engagement state of said locking claw with said engagement groove at operation time thereof.

3 . The footrest construction according to claim 1 ,
wherein a handle for operation is provided in one side portion of said footrest; said support bar is formed by a first bar extending from one side portion in which said handle is provided and a second bar extending from the other side portion; said support portion is provided with a first holding portion for holding said first bar so as to be capable of being freely pulled out and a second holding portion for holding said second bar so as to be capable of being freely pulled out; and the slidable contact resistance between said second bar and said second holding portion is set so as to be lower than the slidable contact resistance between said first bar and said first holding portion.

4 . The footrest construction according to claim 2 ,
wherein a handle for operation is provided in one side portion of said footrest; said support bar is formed by a first bar extending from one side portion in which said handle is provided and a second bar extending from the other side portion; said support portion is provided with a first holding portion for holding said first bar so as to be capable of being freely pulled out and a second holding portion for holding said second bar so as to be capable of being freely pulled out; and the slidable contact resistance between said second bar and said second holding portion is set so as to be lower than the slidable contact resistance between said first bar and said first holding portion.
