Smokeless tobacco product user package

Abstract

A smokeless tobacco product user package ( 10 ). To further improve the packaging of smokeless tobacco doses so that the tobacco product at each single instance can be made more easily accessible to the user in a wider range of desired amounts the package comprises a plurality of product portions ( 18 ) arranged in a spaced relation one after another. The portions ( 18 ) are sealed in pockets ( 20 ) between layers of flexible sheet permeable to tobacco ingredients. The layers of sheet are bonded together face to face outside said portions ( 18 ) and form a band ( 12 ) joining the portions ( 18 ) together. The band ( 12 ) is also separable between adjacent portions ( 18 ) selectable by the user.

1 . A smokeless tobacco product user package ( 10 ), comprising: a plurality of product portions ( 18 ) arranged in a spaced relation one after another; 
 said portions ( 18 ) being sealed in a pocketed manner between layers of flexible sheet ( 14 ,  16 ) permeable to tobacco ingredients;    said layers of sheet ( 14 ,  16 ) being bonded together face to face outside said portions ( 18 );    said layers of sheet ( 14 ,  16 ) forming a band ( 12 ) joining the portions ( 18 ) together; and    said band ( 12 ) being separable between adjacent portions ( 18 ) selectable by the user.    
     
     
         2 . The package according to  claim 1 , wherein the smokeless tobacco product is an oral snuff.  
     
     
         3 . The package according to  claim 1 , wherein each of said portions ( 18 ) has a weight of approximately 0.05 to 0.3 g.  
     
     
         4 . The package according to  claim 1 , wherein the surface of each portion is covered by a powder material having a white or other light color.  
     
     
         5 . The package according to  claim 1 , wherein said band ( 12 ) is made tearable between said selectable portions ( 18 ).  
     
     
         6 . The package according to  claim 4 , wherein said band ( 12 ) has perforations ( 22 ) between said selectable portions ( 18 ).  
     
     
         7 . The package according to  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 a container ( 28 ) for storing said portions ( 18 );    said container ( 28 ) having a opening ( 34 ) for exposing an end of said band outside the container and allowing withdrawal of said snuff portions from said container ( 28 ).    
     
     
         8 . The package according to  claim 7 , wherein said container ( 22 ;  32 ) has cutting means ( 32 ) for cutting said band ( 12 ) between said selectable portions ( 18 ).  
     
     
         9 . The package according to  claim 6 , wherein said cutting means comprises a knife edge ( 32 ) operable on closing a closure ( 30 ) for said opening ( 34 ).
