Abstract
The present invention is directed to secreted and transmembrane polypeptides and to nucleic acid molecules encoding those polypeptides. Also provided herein are vectors and host cells comprising those nucleic acid sequences, chimeric polypeptide molecules comprising the polypeptides of the present invention fused to heterologous polypeptide sequences, antibodies which bind to the polypeptides of the present invention and to methods for producing the polypeptides of the present invention.

22 . A method for detecting a polypeptide that inhibits neoplastic growth in tumor cells comprising:
contacting a tissue sample with an isolated antibody that binds to a polypeptide shown in FIG. 18 (SEQ ID NO: 42), wherein said polypeptide inhibits neoplastic growth in tumor cells; and detecting binding of said antibody to said polypeptide.
23 . The method of claim 22 , wherein said antibody is a monoclonal antibody.
24 . The method of claim 22 , wherein said antibody is a humanized antibody.
25 . The method of claim 22 , wherein said antibody is an antibody fragment.
26 . The method of claim 22 , wherein said antibody is labeled.
27 . The method of claim 22 , wherein said detecting binding of said antibody to said polypeptide comprises:
forming a conjugated antibody by labeling said antibody with a moiety detectable by a detection means; administering a detectable effective amount of said conjugated antibody to a solution, suspension, cell, cell population, tissue, organ, or organism; and using a detection means to determine the presence or absence of said polypeptide.
28 . A method for purifying a polypeptide that inhibits neoplastic growth in tumor cells comprising:
immobilizing an antibody that binds to the polypeptide shown in FIG. 18 (SEQ ID NO: 42) on a suitable support; contacting the antibody with a sample containing the polypeptide; washing the immobilized antibody with a first solvent, suitable to remove material that is not the polypeptide; and washing the immobilized antibody with a second solvent, suitable to remove the polypeptide from the antibody.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
