Abstract
A portable container for holding office products and documents includes a rigid structural portion capable of holding hanging folders in a cascading configuration and a cover portion attached to the rigid structural portion. The cover portion may be made from a pliable material, to make the container lightweight and aesthetically pleasing. The container may include a wire insert for supporting hanging file folders.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A portable container for holding office products and documents, the portable container comprising:
a rigid structural portion capable of holding hanging folders in a cascading configuration; and a cover portion attached to the rigid structural portion.
2 . The portable container of claim 1 , wherein the cover portion is attached to the rigid structural portion by at least one rod member.
3 . The portable container of claim 2 , wherein the outer cover portion is attached to at least one of the rod members with flexible straps.
4 . The portable container of claim 1 , further including a shoulder strap that is secured to at least one of the cover portion and the rigid structural portion.
5 . The portable container of claim 4 , wherein the shoulder strap passes through at least one aperture in the cover portion.
6 . The portable container of claim 1 , wherein the cover portion includes an upper panel that may be opened to provide access to file folders disposed within the container.
7 . The portable container of claim 1 , wherein the rigid structural portion includes file folder hanging surfaces having variable heights so that file folders hanging from the rigid structural portion are arranged in a cascading manner.
8 . The portable container of claim 7 , wherein the file folder hanging surfaces are arranged in a stair step configuration.
9 . The portable container of claim 1 , further including a storage caddy having pockets for holding items such as pens.
10 . The portable container of claim 9 wherein the storage caddy is supported by webs extending inward from the rigid structural portion.
11 . The portable container of claim 10 wherein the storage caddy is supported by a web portion on each side of the storage caddy, and wherein each web portion extends over substantially less than the entire width of the storage caddy.
12 . The portable container of claim 9 wherein the storage caddy includes a stiffener member.
13 . The portable container of claim 12 wherein the stiffener member is constructed from cardboard.
14 . The portable container of claim 9 wherein the storage caddy has a lower portion that provides a cushion at the bottom of the rigid structural member.
15 . The portable container of claim 1 , further including a removable insert for providing hanging surfaces for hanging file folders of more than one size.
16 . The portable container of claim 15 , wherein the removable insert is constructed using metallic wire.
17 . The portable container of claim 15 , wherein the removable insert includes a slidable and removable member providing capability to hang letter-sized, legal sized, and both letter and legal sized hanging folders, depending on the position of the removable member.
18 . A container for holding hanging file folders, comprising:
surfaces for supporting hanging file folders; wherein the surfaces are configured to support the hanging file folders in a cascading fashion.
19 . The container of claim 18 , wherein the surfaces for supporting hanging file folders are on a wire insert.
