Abstract

The present invention relates to a pocket flap apparatus that can be alternatively adjusted and moved between an exposed position and a concealed position. The pocket flap apparatus further includes one or more retainers for releasably securing firearm ammunition. The flap can be positioned inside the pocket to conceal the ammunition, or the flap can be positioned outside the pocket to provide convenient access to the ammunition. The concealed position of the flap allows the garment, to which the pocket is attached, to be used for general purposes while concealing the flap, the retainers, and any ammunition secured to the flap.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A pocket apparatus comprising:
a partially enclosed space having an open side; a cover secured adjacent to the open side of the partially enclosed space such that the cover is capable of extending over the open side of the partially enclosed space; and an ammunition flap secured adjacent to the open side of the partially enclosed space such that the ammunition flap can be positioned in one of the following positions, concealed inside the partially enclosed space and exposed outside the partially enclosed space.

2 . The ammunition pocket of claim 1 wherein the partially enclosed space is a pocket.

3 . The ammunition pocket of claim 1 wherein the partially enclosed space is shaped in a substantially rectangular configuration.

4 . The ammunition pocket of claim 1 wherein the open side of the partially enclosed space is facing up.

5 . The ammunition pocket of claim 1 wherein the cover includes a mechanism for releasably securing to an outside portion of the partially enclosed space when the ammunition flap is concealed inside the partially enclosed space.

6 . The ammunition pocket of claim 1 wherein the cover includes a mechanism for releasably securing in an upward configuration to allow complete access to the ammunition flap when the ammunition flap is exposed outside the partially enclosed space.

7 . The ammunition pocket of claim 1 wherein the ammunition flap includes a plurality of holders.

8 . The ammunition pocket of claim 1 wherein the ammunition flap includes a plurality of holders that are configured to releasably secure firearm ammunition cartridges.

9 . The ammunition pocket of claim 1 wherein the ammunition flap is secured to the partially enclosed space below the cover.

       10 . A multi-purpose pocket comprising:
a pocket having an open side; and an ammunition flap secured to the open side of the pocket such that the ammunition flap can be positioned in both a concealed configuration within the pocket and an exposed configuration outside the pocket.

11 . The multi-purpose pocket of claim 10 wherein the pocket is shaped in a substantially rectangular configuration

12 . The multi-purpose pocket of claim 10 wherein open side of the pocket is facing up.

13 . The multi-purpose pocket of claim 10 wherein the ammunition flap includes a plurality of holders.

14 . The multi-purpose pocket of claim 10 wherein the ammunition flap includes a plurality of holders that are configured to releasably secure firearm ammunition cartridges.

15 . The multi-purpose pocket of claim 10 wherein the ammunition flap is not visible when the ammunition flap is in the concealed configuration.

       16 . A garment apparatus comprising:
a pocket disposed on the garment; a flap coupled to the garment adjacent to the pocket, the flap being insertable into the pocket to conceal the flap, the flap alternatively hanging on the outside of the pocket; and a plurality of retaining structures coupled to the flap, the retaining structures being configured to releasably secure firearm ammunition.
