Abstract

A locator system is disclosed, including a GPS-enabled mobile station in communication with an E911-enabled wireless network. The mobile station may include a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card configured to cause the mobile station to generate location information and forward the information to a subscriber.

1 . A locator system comprising: 
 a GPS-enabled mobile station in communication with a E911-enabled wireless network, the mobile station including a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card;    a subscriber in network communication with said wireless network; and    said SIM card being configured to cause the mobile station to generate location information and forward said information to said subscriber.    
     
     
         2 . The locator system of  claim 1 , wherein said mobile station is further configured to send its location at predetermined intervals to said subscriber.  
     
     
         3 . The locator system of  claim 1 , wherein said mobile station is further configured to transmit location data to a subscriber when nearing forbidden zones as pre-defined by the subscriber.  
     
     
         4 . The locator system of  claim 3 , wherein said mobile station is further configured to generate and transmit said location information without intervention from the user of said mobile station.  
     
     
         5 . The locator system of  claim 3 , wherein said subscriber is allowed to enter locations of interest into a web page, and be notified when said mobile station is near one of said locations of interest.  
     
     
         6 . The locator system of  claim 5 , wherein one of said locations of interest is entered as a street address into said web page, and said system is configured to convert said address into location coordinates.  
     
     
         7 . The locator system of  claim 6 , wherein said system queries the location of said mobile station, and alert the subscriber if the mobile station arrives at location coordinates corresponding to said address.  
     
     
         8 . The locator system of  claim 7 , wherein said subscriber is allowed to associate a time element with one of said addresses.  
     
     
         9 . The locator system of  claim 8 , wherein said subscriber is notified if the mobile station does reach said address at a specified time.  
     
     
         10 . A locator system comprising: 
 GPS-enabled mobile station means for communicating with a E911-enabled wireless network, the mobile station including a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card;    subscriber terminal means in network communication with said wireless network; and    said SIM card comprising means for generating location information and forwarding said information to said subscriber.    
     
     
         11 . The locator system of  claim 10 , said mobile station further comprising means for sending its location at predetermined intervals to said subscriber.  
     
     
         12 . The locator system of  claim 10 , said mobile station further comprising means for transmitting location data to a subscriber when nearing forbidden zones as pre-defined by the subscriber.  
     
     
         13 . The locator system of  claim 12 , said mobile station further comprising means for generating and transmitting said location information without intervention from the user of said mobile station.  
     
     
         14 . The locator system of  claim 12 , further comprising means for allowing a subscriber to enter locations of interest into a web page, and means for notifying said subscriber when said mobile station is near one of said locations of interest.  
     
     
         15 . The locator system of  claim 14 , wherein one of said locations of interest is entered as a street address into said web page, and said system further comprises means for converting said address into location coordinates.  
     
     
         16 . The locator system of  claim 15 , further comprising means for querying the location of said mobile station, and alerting the subscriber if the mobile station arrives at location coordinates corresponding to said address.  
     
     
         17 . The locator system of  claim 16 , further comprising means for associating a time element with one of said addresses.  
     
     
         18 . The locator system of  claim 17 , further comprising means for notifying said subscriber if the mobile station does reach said address at a specified time.
