Thienyl-pyrazoles and their use for controlling pests

Abstract

The present invention relates to compounds of the formulae (Ia) and (Ib) wherein R 1 represents C 1-10 alkyl which may be unsubstituted or substituted with halogen, or represents C 2-4 alkoxyalkyl, C 2-4 hydroxyalkyl, C 3-6 cycloalkyl, hydroxy, C 1-9 alkoxy which may be unsubstituted or substituted with halogen, or represents C 3-6 cycloalkoxy, C 2-4 alkoxyalkoxy or C 3-4 alkynyloxy, and R 2 represents hydrogen, C 1-4 alkoxycarbonyl, C 1-3 alkylcarbonyl or C 2-4 alkoxyalkyl, to processes for their preparation and to their use for controlling animal pests.

 R 1  represents C 2-5  alkyl which may be unsubstituted or substituted with fluoro or chloro, and    R 2  represents tert-butoxycarbonyl.    
     
     
         4 . The compound according to  claim 2  wherein 
 R 1  represents C 2-6  alkyl which may be unsubstituted or substituted with fluoro or chloro, and    R 2  represents acetyl.    
     
     
         5 . The compounds according to  claim 2  wherein 
 R 1  represents n-butyl, n-pentyl, n-hexyl, or trifluoromethyl, and    R 2  represents acetyl, methoxycarbonyl, t-butoxycarbonyl, ethoxymethyl or methoxymethyl.

         7 . A process for preparing a compound of the formulae (Ia) or a compound of the formula (Ib) according to  claim 2  wherein 
 R 2  represents C 1-4  alkoxycarbonyl, comprising the step of:    reacting a compounds of the formula (Ic)                          wherein    R 1  is as defined in  claim 2  with    a compounds of the formula (V)      R 2a -Hal  (V)    wherein    R 2a  represents C 1-4  alkoxycarbonyl, and Hal represents halogen,    optionally in the presence of at least one inert diluent, and,    optionally, in the presence of an acid binder.    
     
     
         8 . A method of combating unwanted pests, which comprises administering to such pests or to a locus from which it is desired to exclude such pests a pesticidally effective amount of at least one compound of the formula (Ia) and/or at least one compound of the formula (Ib) according to  claim 2 .
