Multi-color brush handle

Abstract

A cosmetic brush has a multi-colored brush handle that contains various chambers that are capable of receiving a colored material. The colored material can be a colored epoxy resin, a colored pipette, or combinations thereof. The brush handle can be made of polystyrene so that the brush handle is transparent, which allows the colored material to be seen through the handle. A single chamber can be divided into a plurality of segments with each segment containing a different colored material therein. Various geometric cross-sectional areas can used for the chamber. Additional colors can be added to the brush handle by increasing the number of chambers or segments within a single chamber within the brush handle.

1  A brush with a multi-colored brush handle comprising: 
 a tuft of bristles;    a ferrule attached to the tuft of bristles; and    a transparent brush handle attached to the ferrule; and    at least one chamber contained within the transparent brush handle that substantially extends through a length of the brush handle, the chamber containing a colored material that is visible through the transparent brush handle.    
   
   
       2  The brush according to  claim 1 , wherein at least one chamber comprises a plurality of vertical chambers, each having a separate axis.  
   
   
       3  The brush according to  claim 1 , wherein the chamber has a plurality of segments contained therein, each segment extending a full length of the chamber.  
   
   
       4  The brush according to  claim 1 , wherein the colored material comprises a colored epoxy resin.  
   
   
       5  The brush according to  claim 1 , wherein the colored material comprises a colored rod inserted into the chamber.  
   
   
       6  The brush according to  claim 1 , wherein the chamber has a helical contour.  
   
   
       7  The brush according to  claim 1 , wherein the chamber has a cylindrical geometrical cross-sectional area.  
   
   
       8  A transparent brush handle comprising a plurality of chambers contained within the transparent brush handle that substantially extend through a vertical length of the brush handle, each of the chambers containing a colored material that is visible through the transparent brush handle.  
   
   
       9  The transparent brush handle according to  claim 8 , wherein each of the chambers is cylindrical and has a separate axis.  
   
   
       10  The transparent brush handle according to claim  claim 8 , wherein the chambers comprise segments within a single cylindrical passage, each segment extending the length of the passage.  
   
   
       11  The transparent brush handle according to claim  claim 8 , wherein each of the chambers comprises a pie-shaped member having two straight sides in common with adjacent ones of the chambers and a curved side that joins the other chambers to form a cylinder.  
   
   
       12  The transparent brush handle according to claim  claim 8 , wherein the colored material comprises a colored epoxy resin.  
   
   
       13  The transparent brush handle according to claim  claim 8 , wherein the colored material comprises a colored rod inserted into the chamber.  
   
   
       14  The transparent brush handle according to claim  claim 8 , wherein the chamber has a cylindrical geometrical cross-sectional area.  
   
   
       15  The transparent brush handle according to claim  claim 8 , wherein the transparent brush handle comprises a solid handle constructed from polystyrene.  
   
   
       16  The transparent brush handle according to claim  claim 8 , wherein the transparent brush handle comprises a hollow brush handle.  
   
   
       17  A transparent brush handle comprising a chamber contained within the transparent brush handle that substantially extends through a vertical length of the brush handle, the chamber being vertically partitioned into at least two segments with each segment containing a different colored material that is visible through the transparent brush handle.  
   
   
       18  A transparent brush handle according to  claim 17 , wherein the colored material comprises a colored epoxy resin.  
   
   
       19  A transparent brush handle according to  claim 17 , wherein the chamber has a helical contour.  
   
   
       20  A method of forming a multi-colored brush handle comprising the steps of: 
 (a) molding a transparent material to form a substantially cylindrical body with at least one chamber contained within the cylindrical body;    (b) filling the at least one chamber with at least one colored material;    (c) sealing the at least one colored material within the chamber; and    (d) finishing a bottom of the cylindrical body to remove any visual defects.    
   
   
       21  The method of forming a brush with a multi-colored brush handle according to  claim 20 , wherein the step of molding a transparent material includes molding a material comprising polystyrene.  
   
   
       22  The method of forming a brush with a multi-colored brush handle according to  claim 20 , wherein the step of molding a transparent material includes forming a substantially cylindrical body having a plurality of vertical chambers, each having a separate axis.  
   
   
       23  The method of forming a brush with a multi-colored brush handle according to  claim 20 , wherein the colored material comprises a colored epoxy resin.  
   
   
       24  The method of forming a brush with a multi-colored brush handle according to  claim 20 , wherein the colored material comprises a colored rod inserted into the chamber.  
   
   
       25  The method of forming a multi-colored brush handle according to  claim 20 , wherein the step of molding a transparent material to form a substantially cylindrical body includes molding the transparent material with a through-hole located at a bottom of the cylindrical body to minimize core displacement during molding.  
   
   
       26  The method of forming a brush with a multi-colored brush handle according to  claim 20 , wherein the step of sealing the at least one colored material within the cylindrical body includes filling a bottom of the cylindrical body with an epoxy resin material to secure the colored material within the cylindrical body.  
   
   
       27  The method of forming a brush with a multi-colored brush handle according to  claim 20 , wherein the at least one chamber has a helical contour.  
   
   
       28  A method of forming a multi-colored brush handle comprising the steps of: 
 (a) molding a transparent material to form a substantially cylindrical body with a plurality of chambers contained within the cylindrical body, the chambers comprise segments within a single passage, each segment extending a length of the passage;    (b) filling the plurality of chambers with at least one colored material;    (c) sealing the at least one colored material within the chamber; and    (d) finishing a bottom of the cylindrical body to remove any visual defects.    
   
   
       29  The method of forming a brush with a multi-colored brush handle according to  claim 28 , each chamber having a pie-shaped member having two straight sides in common with adjacent ones of the chambers and a curved side that joins the other chambers to form a cylinder.  
   
   
       30  The method of forming a brush with a multi-colored brush handle according to  claim 28 , wherein the colored material comprises a colored epoxy resin.  
   
   
       31  The method of forming a brush with a multi-colored brush handle according to  claim 28 , wherein the colored material comprises a colored rod insterted into the chamber.
