Packaging having access for presenting and displaying special features

Abstract

A package for a water-wiping apparatus for wiping standing water from a curved surface has sides forming a plastic enclosure. The enclosure is provided with an opening through one of the sides for tactile access to a specific physical feature of the water-wiping apparatus.

1 . A package for a product having a specific physical feature, comprising: 
 a first side having a formed shape for retaining the product;    a second side opposite the first side for enclosing the product in concert with the first side; and    an opening in at least one of the first and second sides proximate the specific physical feature, providing tactile access to the physical feature.    
   
   
       2 . The package of  claim 1  wherein the first and second sides are contiguous, joined along one edge formed as a hinge element.  
   
   
       3 . The package of  claim 1  wherein the first and second sides have matching snap-in elements allowing the two sides to be snapped together.  
   
   
       4 . The package of  claim 1  wherein the product is a water-wiper blade, and the specific physical feature is a lip of a flexible panel that is a part of the wiper blade.  
   
   
       5 . A method for providing tactile access to a specific physical feature of a packaged product, comprising steps of: 
 (a) forming the package for the product from one or more plastic sheets, such that the product is enclosed in the plastic package; and    (b) forming an opening in the package proximate the specific physical feature, such that the specific physical feature is exposed for tactile examination.    
   
   
       6 . The method of  claim 5  wherein the first and second sides are contiguous, joined along one edge formed as a hinge element.  
   
   
       7 . The method of  claim 5  having first and second sides have matching snap-in elements allowing the two sides to be snapped together.  
   
   
       8 . The method of  claim 5  wherein the product is a water-wiper blade, and the specific physical feature is a lip of a flexible panel that is a part of the wiper blade.
