Skin care product delivery system

Abstract

A personal care product delivery system is disclosed. In one embodiment, the system comprises a carrier cover, a product carrier that is removably affixed to the carrier cover, a plurality of spaced-apart cavities formed in the product carrier and protruding through corresponding holes in the carrier cover, a removable cover sealed over the cavities, and a quantity of personal care product in each of the cavities. The system thus provides a compact, efficient, sanitary, and spill-proof apparatus for carrying all personal care products that are appropriate for care of an individual over a period of time. Alternate embodiments provide various closure styles, package formats and product aliquots organized by time period or function.

1 . A personal care product delivery system, comprising: 
 a carrier cover;    a product carrier that is removably affixed to the carrier cover;    a plurality of spaced-apart cavities formed in the product carrier;    a quantity of personal care product in each of the cavities; and    one or more seals over the cavities;    wherein each of the cavities contains a functionally different personal care product.    
   
   
       2 . A system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein each different personal care product addresses a different personal care need that may arise in a particular period of time.  
   
   
       3 . A system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the carrier cover comprises: 
 a planar sheet comprising a plurality of holes through which the cavities may project and having a slot for receiving a closure tab and a foldable score line;    a closure tab extending outwardly from the sheet, wherein folding the cover along the score line and inserting the closure tab into the slot results in removably closing the cover over the sheet and the cavities.    
   
   
       4 . A system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the carrier cover comprises a first portion and a second portion, the first portion associated with a first plurality of cavities in the product carrier that hold a first set of personal care products for use during a first time period, the second portion associated with a second plurality of cavities in the product carrier that hold a second set of personal care products for use during a second time period.  
   
   
       5 . A system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the product carrier comprises a first plurality of cavities that hold a first set of personal care products for use during a first activity, and a second plurality of cavities that hold a second set of personal care products for use during a second activity.  
   
   
       6 . A system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the seal comprises a single planar sheet of sealing material that covers all the cavities.  
   
   
       7 . A system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the seal comprises a plurality of individual seals, each of the individual seals formed over a different one of the cavities.  
   
   
       8 . A system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the seal comprises a first planar sheet of sealing material that covers the first plurality of cavities and a second planar sheet of sealing material that covers the second plurality of cavities.  
   
   
       9 . A system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein said personal care products comprise cosmetic products.  
   
   
       10 . A system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein said personal care products comprise hair care products.  
   
   
       11 . A system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein said personal care products comprise medications.  
   
   
       12 . A system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein said one or more seals comprise a first sealing layer and a second sealing layer.  
   
   
       13 . A system as recited in  claim 12 , wherein said first sealing layer is comprised of thin-film plastic and said second sealing layer is comprised of foil.  
   
   
       14 . A system as recited in  claim 12 , wherein said second sealing layer is comprised of a backing having holes aligned with and corresponding to the cavities.  
   
   
       15 . A system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein each of the cavities contains a pre-measured quantity of personal care product sufficient for single individual use.  
   
   
       16 . A system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the product carrier has a lateral dimension less than approximately four inches and a longitudinal dimension less than approximately ten inches, and wherein each of the cavities contains a pre-measured quantity of personal care product sufficient for single individual use.  
   
   
       17 . A system as recited in  claim 1 , wherein said one or more seals is re-sealable after a first use.  
   
   
       18 . A disposable package for providing personal care products, comprising: 
 a planar product carrier having a plurality of spaced-apart cavities formed in the product carrier;    a once-removable seal affixed over the cavities;    a first personal care product in a first cavity of the product carrier; and    a second personal care product in a second cavity of the product carrier, wherein the first product is functionally different from the second product,    wherein said product carrier is affixed to a carrier cover.    
   
   
       19 . A package as recited in  claim 18 , wherein the first product is appropriate for use during a first time period, and the second product is appropriate for use during a second time period.  
   
   
       20 . A package as recited in  claim 18 , wherein said carrier cover comprises: 
 a planar sheet in which holes are formed through which the cavities may project and having a slot for receiving a closure tab and having a foldable score line;    a closure tab extending outwardly from the sheet, wherein folding the cover along the score line and inserting the closure tab into the slot results in removably closing the cover over the sheet and the cavities.    
   
   
       21 . A package as recited in  claim 18 , wherein the first personal care product is intended for use during a first activity, and the second personal care product is intended for use during a second activity.  
   
   
       22 . A package as recited in  claim 18 , wherein the seal comprises a single planar sheet of sealing material that covers the plurality of cavities.  
   
   
       23 . A package as recited in  claim 18 , wherein the seal comprises a plurality of individual seals, each of the individual seals formed over a different one of the cavities.  
   
   
       24 . A package as recited in  claim 18 , wherein the plurality of cavities comprises a first plurality of cavities and a second plurality of cavities, said seal comprising: 
 a first planar sheet of sealing material covering the first plurality of cavities; and    a second planar sheet of sealing material covering the second plurality of cavities.    
   
   
       25 . A package as recited in  claim 18 , wherein each of the plurality of cavities contains a pre-measured quantity of personal care product sufficient for a single individual use.  
   
   
       26 . A package as recited in  claim 18 , wherein said first and second personal care products comprise cosmetic products.  
   
   
       27 . A package as recited in  claim 18 , wherein said first and second personal care products comprise hair care products.  
   
   
       28 . A package as recited in  claim 18 , wherein said first and second personal care products comprise medications.  
   
   
       29 . A package as recited in  claim 18 , wherein said seal comprises a first sealing layer and a second sealing layer.  
   
   
       30 . A package as recited in  claim 18 , wherein said first and second personal care products address different personal care needs.  
   
   
       31 . A disposable package for providing skin care products, comprising: 
 a planar, water-impermeable product carrier having a first plurality of spaced-apart cavities and a second plurality of spaced-apart cavities formed in the product carrier;    a once-removable seal affixed over the cavities;    a first set of skin care products in the first plurality of cavities, wherein each product in the first set is functionally different and is appropriate for use during a first time period; and    a second set of skin care products in the second plurality of cavities, wherein each product in the second set is functionally different and is appropriate for use during a second time period.    
   
   
       32 . A package as recited in  claim 31 , further comprising a carrier cover that receives and encloses the product carrier, and wherein the carrier cover comprises: 
 a planar sheet in which holes are formed through which the cavities may project and having a slot for receiving a closure tab and having a foldable score line;    a closure tab extending outwardly from the sheet, wherein folding the cover along the score line and inserting the closure tab into the slot results in removably closing the cover over the sheet and the cavities.    
   
   
       33 . A package as recited in  claim 31 , wherein the first portion carries skin care products for use during a morning or day time period, and the second portion carries skin care products for use during an afternoon or evening time period.  
   
   
       34 . A package as recited in  claim 31 , wherein the first portion carries skin care products for use during a first activity, and the second portion carries skin care products for use during a second activity.  
   
   
       35 . A package as recited in  claim 31 , wherein the seal comprises a single planar sheet of sealing material that covers all the cavities.  
   
   
       36 . A package as recited in  claim 31 , wherein the seal comprises a plurality of individual seals, each of the seals formed over a different one of the cavities.  
   
   
       37 . A package as recited in  claim 31 , wherein each of the cavities contains a pre-measured quantity of skin care product sufficient for complete individual use in a particular time period.  
   
   
       38 . A method of manufacturing a personal care delivery system, the method comprising the steps of: 
 forming a carrier cover;    forming a product carrier having a plurality of spaced-apart cavities therein;    depositing a quantity of skin care product in each of the cavities;    affixing a removable seal over the cavities; and    affixing the product carrier to the carrier cover.    
   
   
       39 . A method as recited in  claim 38 , wherein the depositing step comprises depositing a functionally different skin care fluid in each of the cavities.  
   
   
       40 . A method as recited in  claim 38 , wherein the depositing step comprises depositing a functionally different skin care fluid in each of the cavities, and wherein each different skin care fluid addresses a different skin care need that may arise in a period of time.  
   
   
       41 . A method as recited in  claim 38 , wherein the forming the product carrier step comprises: 
 forming a planar sheet in which the cavities are formed and having a slot for receiving a closure tab; and    wherein forming the carrier cover comprises forming a cover extending outwardly from the sheet and joined to the sheet by a foldable score line, the cover comprising a closure tab extending therefrom, wherein folding the cover along the score line and inserting the closure tab into the slot results in removably closing the cover over the sheet and the cavities.
