Isolated mammalian monocyte cell genes; related reagents

Abstract

Nucleic acids encoding various monocyte cell proteins from a primate, reagents related thereto, including specific antibodies, and purified proteins are described. Methods of using said reagents and related diagnostic kits are also provided.

         21 . A binding composition comprising an antibody or fragment thereof which specifically binds to SEQ ID NO: 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, or 22.  
     
     
         22 . The binding composition of  claim 21 , wherein the antibody fragment comprises: 
 a) an Fv fragment;    b) an Fab fragment; or    c) an Fab2 fragment.    
     
     
         23 . The binding composition of  claim 21 , wherein the antibody or fragment thereof is: 
 a) a monoclonal antibody;    b) a polyclonal antibody;    c) a chimeric antibody; or    d) a humanized antibody.    
     
     
         24 . The binding composition of  claim 21 , wherein the antibody or fragment thereof is conjugated to a chemical moiety.  
     
     
         25 . The binding composition of  claim 21 , wherein the antibody or fragment thereof is detectably labeled.  
     
     
         26 . The binding composition of  claim 25 , wherein the antibody or fragment thereof is detectably labeled with: 
 a) a radioactive label; or    b) a fluorescent label.    
     
     
         27 . The binding composition of  claim 21 , wherein the antibody or binding fragment thereof is in a sterile composition.  
     
     
         28 . The binding composition of  claim 27 , wherein the sterile composition is an aqueous solution.  
     
     
         29 . The binding composition of  claim 21 , wherein the antibody or fragment thereof is bound to a solid substrate.  
     
     
         30 . The binding composition of  claim 29 , wherein the solid substrate is: 
 a) a bead; or    b) a plastic membrane.    
     
     
         31 . The binding composition of  claim 21 , wherein the antibody or fragment thereof has a Kd of at least 30 μM.  
     
     
         32 . A kit comprising: 
 a) a compartment containing the binding composition of  claim 21;  and    b) instruction for use and disposal of the kit.    
     
     
         33 . A method of modulating physiology of a cell comprising contacting the cell with the binding composition of  claim 21.
