Abstract

A strainer basket is used in conduits or fluid systems and includes a non-metallic strainer basket in which a bio-cide is disposed to combat algae and fungal buildup along the surface of the basket and/or in the openings of the basket.

1 . A strainer basket, comprising: 
 a non-metallic body having an a first end having an outer periphery, a second end having an outer periphery, and a fluid passage between said first and second ends said body further having a plurality of openings;    a bio-cide used in connection with said non-metallic body; and    wherein an alignment slot is disposed on said outer periphery of said first or second end.

 a unitary polyethylene body having a openings therein; and    a bio-cide mixed with, let into or disposed on said polyethylene body.

 a non-metallic body having a top and a bottom, and having multiple openings, said top being open and said bottom being closed; a bio-cide mixed with, let into, or disposed on said non-metallic body; and    wherein said bottom has a plurality of alignment slots.    
   
   
       11 . The basket of  claim 10 , further comprising a handle coupled to said body.
