Abstract
A collapsable spa enclosure includes a canopy that is carried by a frame that is supported by a plurality of support blocks. The support blocks are connected to the outer surface of the spa with an adhesive or a clamping strap. The collapsable spa enclosure may be removed from the spa by detaching the frame from the support blocks. The frame may be collapsed into a convenient storage size. When erected over the spa, the enclosure protects the spa user from insects, sun, and wind while providing the user privacy.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A collapsable enclosure for a spa having a body having a sidewall with corners and a deck; the collapsable enclosure comprising:
a plurality of support blocks adapted to be connected to the body of the spa; a collapsable frame connected to the support blocks; and a canopy carried by the frame.
2 . The enclosure of claim 1 , wherein the frame is removably connected to the support blocks.
3 . The enclosure of claim 2 , wherein each support block includes a retainer that holds the frame to the support block.
4 . The enclosure of claim 3 , wherein the retainer is a pivoting locking finger.
5 . The enclosure of claim 3 , wherein each support block defines an opening that receives a portion of the frame.
6 . The enclosure of claim 1 , further comprising means for closing the canopy against the body of the spa.
7 . The enclosure of claim 6 , wherein the means for closing includes a drawstring.
8 . The enclosure of claim 6 , wherein the means for closing includes a hook-and-loop seam.
9 . The enclosure of claim 1 , wherein the frame includes a plurality of tubes connected at their upper ends with a connector.
10 . The enclosure of claim 9 , wherein the connector is a ring that slidably and pivotably engages each tube.
11 . The enclosure of claim 9 , wherein the connector non-pivotably engages each tube.
12 . The enclosure of claim 11 , wherein the connector rigidly engages each tube.
13 . The enclosure of claim 9 , wherein each tube includes an elbow.
14 . The enclosure of claim 13 , wherein the elbow allows the tube to pivot to a collapsed position.
15 . The enclosure of claim 1 , further comprising a layer of adhesive connected to the support block; the adhesive adapted to secure the support block to the body of the spa.
16 . The enclosure of claim 1 , further comprising a strap that engages each of the support blocks to hold the support blocks on the body of the spa.
17 . The enclosure of claim 16 , wherein each support block defines a slot that receives a portion of the strap.
18 . The enclosure of claim 16 , further comprising a ratchet that engages the strap; the ratchet adapted to tighten the strap about the support blocks to clamp the support blocks against the body of the spa.
19 . The enclosure of claim 18 , wherein the ratchet is carried by the strap.
20 . The enclosure of claim 18 , wherein the ratchet is carried by one of the support blocks.
21 . The enclosure of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the plurality of support blocks is adapted to be connected to the corner of the body of the spa.
22 . The enclosure of claim 21 , wherein at least one of the plurality of support blocks is flexible and adapted to snugly fit around corners from 90 degrees to 135 degrees.
23 . The enclosure of claim 1 , wherein the canopy includes a door.
24 . The enclosure of claim 1 , wherein the canopy defines a plurality of loops;
the frame being disposed through the loops.
25 . A spa with a collapsable enclosure; the spa comprising:
a body with a sidewall and a deck; a collapsable enclosure connected to the body of the spa; the collapsable enclosure including a plurality of support blocks, a collapsable frame, and a canopy; the collapsable frame being supported by the support blocks; the canopy being carried by the frame; and the support blocks being connected to the body of the spa with an adhesive.
26 . The spa of claim 25 , wherein the collapsable frame is removable from the support blocks.
27 . The spa of claim 26 , wherein the canopy is connected to the body of the spa.
28 . The spa of claim 25 , wherein the support blocks are flexible.
29 . A spa with a collapsable enclosure; the spa comprising:
a body with a sidewall and a deck; a collapsable enclosure removably connected to the body of the spa; the collapsable enclosure including a plurality of support blocks, a collapsable frame connected to the support blocks; and a canopy supported by the collapsable frame; and a strap clamping the support blocks against the body of the spa.
30 . The spa of claim 29 , further comprising a ratchet adapted to clamp the strap against the support blocks.
31 . The spa of claim 30 , wherein the ratchet is carried by one of the support blocks.
32 . The spa of claim 29 , further comprising a drawstring connected to the canopy; the drawstring adapted to cinch the canopy around the body of the spa.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
